What a wonderful place! We arrived in fes a bit over whelmed from the medina, but arriving at the riad settled us instantly. We were made to feel part of the family at once and it has been the highlight of our trip. The decor is breathtaking, mama fatima's food is the best we've tasted across morocco and the rest of the family have done everything to make us feel comfortable (including going out to buy our train tickets for our onward journey). The staff arranged an official tour guide, muhammad, to take us around the medina for half a day, which made us a lot more confident in navigating our way around. We cannot recommend this riad highly enough!

Riad Rcif is an unbelievably beautiful, opulent place - one of the best preserved houses in Fez and a perfect first stop in Morocco. Though rather impossible to find (we waited until a guide came down to help us to the house directly), it is in the center of the Medina and one can walk to any sight, factoring in getting lost in the Medina a half-dozen times along the way, which is unavoidable! We were very warmly welcomed with tea and cookies and the large suite we had booked was stunning, with beautiful tilework, a huge, well-stocked bathroom, and truly amazing details.

Some users have complained (or "pointed out") that the management tries to steer visitors to guides or into an expensive dinner. I have personally witnessed this in a few properties but this is an unfair characterization at Riad Rcif. We were offered a "government-approved" guide, but said we'd prefer to go it alone and weren't pressured at all. We inquired about dinner and were presented the menu with the prices, which are admittedly *very* high and probably the highest for this type of food that I saw in Morocco. Was it worth it? Yes and no. The quality of the food was good and there was a rich selection, but it wasn't the most delicious meal we had in Morocco by any margin. On the other hand, the setting on the hotel's terrace and the wonderful service were unforgettable and I think coming to Riad Rcif and not trying the dinner, no matter how expensive, is a mistake.

Though not entirely perfect (I found the bed uncomfortable and too short), this is an incredible hotel and the highlight of our stay in Morocco. The service, attention to detail, and simply the beauty of the place are incredible and second to none.

Riad Rcif - what a wonderful find. A truly beautiful place to stay. Staff are warm, friendly & ready to help with anything you require. Mamma Fatimah cooks all the meals & oh my gosh they are amazing. If you are looking for a wonderful stay then this is the place to be. We will be back.

To say the least, Fes can be a challenging city for a Westerner. This Riad was incredible and their staff made it a great experience. I would stay NOWHERE ELSE in the Medina, a must if you are to stay in Fes. Thanks to Hichem and his entire group, they make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. I would also recommend eating mama Fatima's dinner on the rooftop each night, brilliant lamb + chicken.

We of course requested a guide and Mohammed Hafid was really outstanding, born in the medina, he showed us old Fes in a unique and exciting way. Five stars to Riad Rcif, it's staff and beautiful decor.

This is a must try place to stay in Fes. Every single inch of the interior is amazing! I am so happy we chose this hotel as the staff were very accomodating and helpful. We couldn't stop taking photos in all its corners.

Worth the long walk from outside the medina! Very beautiful riad! Every corner looks like a piece of art- intricate mosaic design patterns, even inside the rooms.
Food was good- both the breakfast and the dinner! Will definitely stay here again!

Fes:
Our stay at Riad Rfic was lovely the authentically restored palace was a dream to stay in. With beautiful craved ceilings the house is a dream to stay in. The food was fabulous prepared by the owners mother, a lovely authentic moroccan dinner.
