“One of the best Medinas in Morocco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

Fez medina is a buzzing place, full of colourful shops selling an enormous range of items. The ancient narrow lanes are still functioning roadways for donkey carts, some of which service the interesting, historically famous and somewhat smelly tannery (which is a must-see). Fortunately we had a local guide to show us all the special places inside, because navigating your way around on your own is no mean feat, and you could easily get lost in there. Some of the people touting for business are pushy and annoying, but don't let that put you off going. The spice shops are a very special treat.

Make sure you get a guide to show you around the Medina. A must see is the tannery. The products for sale are very reasonably priced but make sure you bargain.

“Exciting to explore”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

We found this the most interesting Medina in Morocco of the six we visited. There was a lot of variety and surprises around every corner. Watch out for the donkey carts! Better shops with more variety than other Medina's. If you are not fit the sloped streets can be a problem when returning although you can take a taxi at either end and be driven around the Medina to the other entry.

“Nice to walk but ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

It was nice to walk in the Medina to see some architectures and tile designs. Just be ready to get used to people who are very aggressive to sell and enjoy harassing all tourists.

So guys there are actually 2 parts of the city one is touristic and one is for locla people.By coinsidence i got into the second one,but thanks God I was with my boyfriend who was not form Fez,but form another city in Morocco, otherwise it wud be difficutl to get home.Be ready if you ask a person (even a kid) to show you the way or just asking the direction,he will follow you until you find the place you need and wait for some money.Watch your bags guys.
