We arranged our trip through Naturally Morocco who provided us with an excellent guide, Hassan, who also came recommended by Riad Norma. On Friday many shops were closed for prayers, so we had a very gentle introduction to the medina with no hassles at all, but still plenty of interesting things to see, madrasers, mosques, fondouks, and some shops still open. We saw the tanneries from an open leather shop (we were given mint and it was raining so not too smelly) and also went to a carpet cooperative with a great roof view of the university. I would enjoy returning on a normal day but am not yet at all confident that we would find our way around!
