“Very noisy rooms near the road”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

Beautiful hotel lobby and good food, especially the desserts. Across the street from Burger King and near a mall. A nice gift shop inside. Room keys are left on the counter, which makes me nervous. Better to take the key with you. No safes in the rooms.

Room Tip: Do not get a room near the street. Loud horns continuously honking until late into the night, due t...

-Staff
OK, hepful.
-Rooms
Average. Clean, quiet, nice view, but not elegant.
-Public areas
Poorly maintained. Elevators falling apart, dirty and dark corridors. Pool area a nice exception. But no sunbeds???!!!
-Restaurant
Average, the same tasteless food I've seen in mamy places in Morocco. Apart from a few exceptions, everything else was not good. McDonalds was tempting (visible from the room, less than 5' walking)
-Location
Close to a road with heavy traffic and raxis, should you need them.
-Amenities
TV had not a single english-speaking channel. Wifi poor, no reception in the room. I had to reboot a wifi router to get it working again.
-Prices
Not a bad hotel, but not value for money. There must be better choices in Fes.

Stayed for two nights on our tour and had hoped for a decent hotel after the last two but this one was as bad. The room faced the backs of other buildings and a dirty alley, The bed was ok but décor tired and with most hotels in Morocco, need revamping. Food was terrible, again like the others 'hot' food was at best warm and tasteless with surly staff. Instead of going on the optional tour meal we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant the second night which was a big mistake.
The soup (an orange puree) hadn't been put out, when it eventually was it was cold, they zapped ours in a microwave but it was inedible anyway. Only two of the three desserts were out, we had to ask for the third. This showed an extremely poor service for a supposedly good quality hotel.
Our highlights of our Archers 'Highlights of Morocco' tour was the scenery, the 'lowlights' were the hotels and food. Our next one was even worse!

We are on our second night of a two night stay. Just for a laugh I had a look on the 'Tonight' app (Booking.com) on my iPhone to see what else was available. There were 54 cheaper options than this hotel available. I imagine all of them are better than here!
This place is seriously lacking in everything. It is popular with tour groups (of which we are on one) and it must be because of the bargain price that the tour groups get.
For a 4 star hotel everything is significantly below acceptable level - EVERYTHING = Room, lobby, bathrooms, air conditioning, breakfast, service...
We are on the 5th floor - No internet coverage, I am in the lobby area on the 4th floor just to get coverage.
AVOID

Room Tip: Get something below the fifth floor if you want internet in your room.

When I booked this hotel for $110 per night, I was not expecting a 5 star comfort but throughout our stay the AC was not working, and it was late July. I kept complaining for three nights and they never said they would not do it. The answer is always we will send the mechanic and nothing happened. Tourist operators bring bus loads of tourists each night and getting another room was not possible. The location is good and you can walk to several restaurants within a mile radius. Hotel food is below average.

Room Tip: Check the AC before you move your baggage. Squat at the front desk and keep the front desk clerk oc...

When I read some of the reviews of this hotel I feel there must be two of them! Sure the hotel has gardens and a swimming pool, and the rooms are of a generous size, but the service is plain and the breakfast is forgettable. In fact the breakfast spread is so out of touch with Western tastes I wonder why the tour operators still use this place?
We stayed here for two nights and although the room was big, it did not compensate for the broken toilet seat and the insular attitude of the staff.
By far the most disturbing aspect was the "average" food available to guests. Some may call it exotic, but to my mind it was very ordinary.

The Menzeh in Fez was just a delight. I stayed there as part of a Cosmos tour in November 2012. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a beautiful en-suite.
We had a bacony overlooking lush gardens and a large pool. If i didn't know better i would think that a was at a tropical oasis.
The Menzeh has everything you could want, restaurants, night club, pizzeria, beauty salon. Free Wi Fi in the lobby. The staff were friendly and the food was good.
I would recommend the Menzeh to anyone travelling through Fez.

Room Tip: Room with balcony with view of pool. (Although I think they all do)
