The Menzeh Fes is a sister hotel to the Menzeh Zalagh although both are sometimes known as the Menzeh Zalagh which can be confusing when first arriving. Most taxi drivers don't know which is which and they are about 200m apart.
The location is good in the Ville Nouvelle and some rooms have a view of the hillside and of the Medina. Petit Taxis will take you into the Old Town for about 10-20 Dirhams as it is about 3km away. There is however a nightclub just across the road from the hotel and might disturb a peaceful night's sleep. Other than that there is not much traffic noise.
The food is buffet-style and some days were better than others. Breakfast is continental with croissants, bolied eggs etc. This hotel caters mainly for one night stops of large groups travelling around Morocco but it is fine for independent travellers as well. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and pleasant.
The only unusual thing was that we were asked to pay 'local taxes' on departure of about 20 Dirhams per person per night. We wondered why this isn't included when initially paying for the hotel as it seems a standard rate and have never known to be asked to pay extra once booked..
