We spent four nights in Fes and were so happy to have spent them here.
We were in Room Sarah, which is the smallest room in the Riad. The room was small, as to be expected, but not TOO small. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning unit worked well, which was very necessary! My only complaint was that the bathroom door didn't extend to the floor so when we showered water tended to run out into the main room. The water pressure/temperature was great, though!
The breakfast every morning on the roof terrace was delicious and plentiful with lots of fresh fruit, pastries, and some hot items.
The location is also very good--just a five minute walk to the Arrecife medina entrance. It was nice to be close to such a major landmark--it made navigating back to the hotel much easier and was easy to instruct cab drivers where to take us.
The only downside to staying in such a central location was the noise from the street at night--kids yelling and a persistent rooster who didn't know what time it was! That was to be expected, however, and we were fine with ear plugs.
The main distinction was how friendly and helpful the owner, Juliet, and her staff were. Everyone was so friendly and helpful in providing directions and tips for navigating the city. You could tell that Juliet really wanted us to have a great stay and she went above and beyond in the customer service department. When my husband wasn't feeling well the day we checked out she offered to run to the pharmacy to pick up some meds for him and actually gave him some she had on hand. We really appreciated her kindness and help!
