“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

This is a basic little hotel but the location is great being only about 100m from the entrance to the Medina.
The rooms are a good size and the shower is OK. our room at the back of the hotel on the first floor overlooked a residential street which was a bit noisy with children playing until quite late but that was not really a problem as we were out most of the time enjoying the amazing city of Fez.
Staff accommodating and there is a nice little roof top terrace.
basic but freshly prepared typical Moroccan breakfast.
We would recommend for the budget conscious traveller.

We stayed four nights. It is outside the Medina but very close to walk in. Located right across the street from the Park of same name. breakfast was basic but standard Moroccan. Not alot of resaturants right close by but a few minutes walk into medina there is tons. street noise is an issue so ask for a room not on the street. They organized a day guide for us and it was fine. Room was clean and big. 330 dh a night.

Room Tip: ask for room not on street.

Superb location! Excellent for the Medina.
Huge amount of character and good size room.
Shower a little small with odd shower curtain that goes around the toilet as well as the shower cubicle.
Hot water most days - water pressure sometimes not good.
Guy on main deak most of the time was not very approachable - didn't say much and didn't respond well - got a smile once out of him. The other guy who spoke very good English was very approachable but he wasn't there much.
Breakfast that is offered for 20 Dirham - pointless! Was just tea, French stick and jam and nothing else so I would suggest not having breakfast at this hotel.
VERY clean hotel.
All in all a good stay but with couple of issues.

Room Tip: Higher floors have problem connecting to wifi

So we arrived in the evening with no plan and no accommodation booked. Guy pulls up alongside on motor bike and asks if he can help. Next thing we are in this hotel, and a guide booked for the following day. Think he told us it was his Dad, and his name was Thami. Well our room was fantastic, with a view of the Medina. The hotel was comfortable and clean, and the shower had hot water. Fez like most of Morocco, is quite an assault on the senses, but if you take it in your stride, be polite and firm, it is the experience of a lifetime. Shokran :)

Room Tip: Rooms away from the Medina will be quieter

A good place to stay in Fes. Make sure you negotiate with the owners for at least breakfast included if not a cheaper price (make sure to specify breakfast is included) as everything in Morocco seems to be subject to haggling. Pretty standard accom - although beware no one seems to speak English.

We stayed at Hotel Jnane Sbile for 2 nights while we were in Fes. The rooms were clean and quiet. This is nice if you spend the entire day in the medina as we did. I do not think the room at a heater and it was a little chilly but they had the softest, warmest blankets.

The hotel provided us with laundry service which was excellent. The breakfast was simple and good. The hotel personnel did not speak great English but we managed without any problems. I did not feel like we could have been in a better location.

The one downside was the bathroom. It was very small and was one of those bathrooms where the toilet and the shower are in very close proximity. Never really my favorite set up but there was plenty of hot water.

As another reviewer mentioned Fes is not for the faint hearted but it is wonderful. The people and the architecture and culture are all amazing. With that, it is old, dirty and very different than probably most tourists are used to. If you are coming to Fes to hang out in a "posh hotel" you might be on the wrong vacation. This is their city and their home not Disneyland.

Room Tip: Not really sure what the best room would be. I think they are all comparable.
