“More a boutique hotel than a Riad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014 via mobile

Riad was very easy to find. Every taxi driver seems to know Cinema Amal which is right beside it.

Reibal was excellent giving us great advice about Fes and also a day trip to Volubilis and Meknes. We took his advice and had a an amazing day with a private driver ... Expensive but worth it.

Breakfast was fantastic each day. A selection of breads with cooked eggs and juice and tea/coffee served in the courtyard. It was a pity that the courtyard was not open but as it rained one day while we were there it was understandable.

A particular word of thanks to Hasan and Nadia who were excellent hosts and attended to our every need.
The room was great. Spacious with every mod con including a much needed fridge.

We didn't like Fes itself that much but that was nothing to do with this Riad which was excellent.

Riad Andalib was the first place we stayed upon our arrival to Morocco. After landing in Casablanca and a train ride to Fez, Reibal, the owner, and his staff were very welcoming with tea and biscuits. The Riad was decorated in traditional Moroccan style with mosaic walls, beautiful carved doors, decorated ceilings and fountain. Since we arrived late, my daughter made arrangements with Reibal via e-mail to have a late dinner. Our dinner consisted of Assorted Moroccan Salads a Beef Tagine with veggies and Pastilla Fassi. The food was delicious and I still crave the Assorted Moroccan Salad! We also enjoyed breakfast daily and again, not one disappointment with the exceptional breakfast selections.
The rooms were all decorated beautifully and very comfortable. The rooftop deck was lovely to relax after a day in the Old Medina. The Old Medina is walking distance from the Riad.
The staff at the Riad were very attentive and could not do enough for us. Such an enjoyable stay!
I would highly, highly recommend Riad Andalib. Shokran(Thank You!) Reibal for the memorable stay! Insha'Allah we'll return someday.

Room Tip: Free Wifi in public areas. No problems with connections.

Just walk out the front door and into the old part of the city. Owner is very friendly and gives great advice (and a map). He gave us great directions to get off on the right food in a crazy city. Restaurant on the roof is really nice and peaceful, though on the more expensive side. Their wine from Volubilus is great. Room was very clean. Staff is attentive. Breakfast was filling.

Located near R'cif, one of the fourteen gates to the Medina and cinema AMAL this couldn't be easier to find and taxi from the airport (or train) can drive you right to the front door. Unassuming in it's outside appearance, the interior is bright and very comfortable; a small number of rooms which translates to fewer guests and more attention from the staff. Reibal Idrissi, the Proprietaire is a wealth of valuable advice on navigating the souks in the Medina. Will you get lost? Yes, but armed with the aforementioned guidance from M. Idrissi you won't be lost for long. M. Idrissi speaks excellent English and Riad Andalib is his home. Guests in other accommodations with absentee owners don't fare as well. Hassan is
always very quick to respond to any request, a very pleasant young man and self-professed movie fan. He claims to have seen every movie in the "Red Box".
An excellent Breakfast is served on the lobby level and dinner may be had on the roof. Our first meal in Fes was authentically prepared and presented in the Tangine; ingredients were obviously fresh and delicious. During our three night stay we explored other dining options and none exceeded our dinner of the first night.
Rooms are bright and very clean, well appointed and maintained.
Thank you Riad Andalib for a most pleasant stay.

Stayed here recently for five nights and the service was faultless. A lovely warm welcome with tea and biscuits on arrival which was needed after a long journey. Great advice from our host on how to navigate the medina and what to see and do. Ate in the restaurant for 3 nights (very unusual for us to eat in the same place more than once), the Moroccan food and wine were delicious. It's also a great location as you are in the Medina but can get dropped by taxi/car at the door.

Reibel and his excellent team really do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. Can't recommend it enough.

The Riad Andalib was recommended to me by a friend and I read the reviews before going. When you read so many good reviews you wonder whether the proprietor has a big family who write reviews for him but in this case they are definitely true. The welcome was genuinely warm and the staff were clearly happy to work there and happy to help. We have stayed in other Riads in Fes where the waiters etc were very much staff members but here they are clearly a team. If you take along young children don't be shocked when the waitresses kiss them each morning. embrace it for what it is, genuine friendliness and warmth. We travelled the city and it was a regular occurrence that our 8 year old daughter was kissed by other girls and women as a greeting. A bit of a shock at first but a sign of the warmth of the welcome. We cannot speak too highly of Reibal Idrissi and his team. They attended to our every need and the room and Riad were superb. You can see the attention to detail and effort put into restoring it to its current glory. They even got up at 5am to serve us breakfast in time to get our flight home. If you are going to Fes, you should stay here, it is as simple as that. It is also accessible by taxi and right on the doorstep of the medina so ideally situated. Thank you for a truly memorable long weekend.

I chose Riad Andalib on account of the stellar reviews, and they were all perfectly correct. I run a resort hotel myself and I was impressed at the genuine care and hospitality that was given by all to all! Come as a guest, but you leave as a friend. The food was abundant and very tasty, after a meal here, there was just not a reason to have another and then another. The included breakfast is such that we then did not want for lunch! The rooms are large and fully equipped, and the peacefulness and comfortable bedding make for a perfectly reviving sleep.
We will long remember our short but delightful stay!
