“Wonderfull stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

Dar Sienna is located in the middle of the Medina in a beautiful, Moroccan style building. The rooms are great and very cozy, and so is the living room. The kitchen came in handy for making tea and coffee and for keeping some drinks in the fridge. The owner Sonhild gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel very much at home. We were helped very well by Ahmed, the King of the Medina. He picked us up, showed us the highlights and answered all our questions. And besides that, he's a great guy. The breakfast was great thanks to the wonderful Saba, so if you're thinking o staying in Fes, look no further! This is the place! Oh, and the roof terrace was awesome too.

Great place, great people and great terrace!! What else? Outstanding breakfast, smiling, informative and helpful staff, wonderful room and forniture and amazing view... Downsides? Mmmh.. after three minutes of hard thinking I'm not able to pick up anything.. Good sign, isn't it? ;))

This is a great retreat from the chaos of the Medina yet it is right in the middle of the action. Ahmed met us at the train station which is good because it would be impossible to find yourself. He also gave us a map and directions to the sights. Saba made us a great breakfast each morning which we ate on the amazing roof terrace. Beautiful views of Fes in all directions from the terrace. The only thing we could fault is the shower on the second floor.

After a long train ride and stressful walk through the market (we arrived on a public holiday and it was extremely busy), we wondered if we had made a mistake to stay in the heart of the medina. All of our concerns vanished when we arrived at Dar Sienna and Ahmed (house manager/go to guy) and Sabah (housekeeper / cook / sweetest woman ever!) made us feel at home by showing us around and offering us tea and nibbles. We immediately liked the place – it had everything we needed: it’s clean, has comfy rooms, good shower, running water (most homes don’t have running water) and 2 wonderful helpers. Dar Sienna is very central and you really get to experience the Medina lifestyle. This was our fourth stop in Morocco and even though we had treated ourselves to a good breakfast at a few fancy places, the breakfast Sabah made was definitely tops. Having an amazing breakfast with the best view in Fes is definitely the right way to start your day off and I’d highly recommend Dar Sienna. Loved it!

Really enjoyed this great little hotel, Ahmed was extremely helpful by coming to find us when we got lost in the Medina (thanks Ahmed!!) and we really enjoyed our stay in the very clean and well presented room. The bathroom was super spacious!! Would stay again.

Beautiful small riad in the heart of the medina. Extremely helpful staff and an unforgettable Moroccan breakfast (I still dream about it!). The room was quite and comfortable. The roof terrace is great as it is the opportunity to use the kitchen and the riad's laptop.Very nice atmosphere also with the other guests of the riad. Fez was our first stop in Morocco and we can tell for sure that this riad was the best accommodation we found in our entire holiday.

Unfortunately there was no hot water to have a shower but you should get used to it if you stay in the medina. We had the same experience in another riad in Marrakech's medina.

This place is an absolute 5 star experience, and we would 100 % recommend it to anyone travelling to Fes who wants to stay in a riad in the heart of the Medina. My boyfriend and I stayed there over christmas for 3 nights and have nothing to complain about. The riad is perfectly located and has one of the best views in the whole of the medina. It is beautifully decorated and wonderfully managed by Ahmed and Sahba, who were both incredibly helpful and friendly people. We hope to return as soon as possible even just for the breakfast on the terrace alone!
