“Honest people with decent moroccan dishes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

Welcoming people. Also Moroccans sit down here to eat. The salads are good. The grilled meat taste good. Terrace is good to see people strolling by while sipping cola through a straw.

“Great little spot in fez”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

We had two great meals very near medina/souk gate near raid fez while staying at raid Myra. (Also lovely with a great hamman). Lively street cafe restaurant with charming chef and delicious grilled eggplant, peppers and tomatoes, fresh pickled salads, and tabouli with chervil, tomatoes and cucumbers. Got to watch the life of fez while dining and really enjoyed the whole scene and the fresh vegetables.

“Catbird spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014 via mobile

Chez Said is a great spot to sit and watch the real Fes go by. Food is very good, inexpensive and promptly served. Very much enjoyed our lunch here.

Said is very welcoming , and it's a great place to watch the hustle and bustle of the real Fes go by. Good food at a good price.

“Funny Place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We were all headed to Chez Rachid but it looked like a bar with lots of people drinking. Someone dragged us to Chez Said saying it was the same owner. A quick consult to TA gave us some reassurance of the place, and albeit we had a good time there the place is visibly overrated. Helped by 2 cooks, Said is ubiquous to thepoint I would like to describe a typical minute of his time:
- First 10 sec: captures customers who are deciding on where to eat and evoques TA to bring them in
- 10-20 sec: ushers the customers in get the menu and set the table
- 20-30 sec: goes to the grill and do some pressing on the sizzling steaks of boeuf while he prepares a bill
- 40-50 sec: finishes the plates bu adding salads on them (with bare hands), then serve some table and presents the bill to the other
50-60 sec: collects from a third table and spots undecided customers passing by

I got tired just of observing him. A good guy, but could do with a helper. But the service was overall very good.

The food is average, not bad, and even things not available locally will be brought from neoghbouring places (like the desert candies). At a premium of course, Outsourcing at its core.
We had tagine of vegetables and steak with fries and zaffron rice amongst others, Good price and big portions, Good for an informal function and to observe the crowd passing by.
