“Wonderful setting: average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

The setting for this sumptuous riyad is unbeatable and it is a treat to be able to dine in such surroundings, with live Berber music most evenings. The two all-inclusive menus offer a good range of Moroccan delights but the quality is poor at times. Tough chicken for the chicken couscous spoilt the evening as it was almost inedible. Waiting staff became less friendly once we suggested that we were unhappy with the main meal. The situation was left unresolved. The starters, desserts, teas and wine were all good quality but it was a shame the level of service changed once we expressed disappointment with the main course. Go for the experience, choose the lighter menu, avoid the meat!

“Fantastic Dining Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

La Maison Bleue is a terrific dining experience in Fes. The menu is pre-set, and covers the spectrum of traditional Moroccan cuisine.

The food is good, but the real treat is the amazing service (including writing my name in sequins on the table) and the authentic entertainment.

La Maison Bleue moves at a leisurely pace so plan to spend at least 2 - 3 hours.

“Lovely atmosphere but expensive food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

This is a lovely restaurant with outstanding service and just ok food. It has 2 types of prix fixed menus, and both are expensive. One offers 3 courses, the other offers 4 with wine. We chose the lesser one and the bill came to just under $100 for a cous cous and pastille entree.. Not expensive to prepare. We shared one glass of wine. The music is great, but if you have a budget, you might want to find another choice .

“very expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

The food was good, however you can find similar good food in Fes with much cheaper price.

The meal is fixed, so you dont have much choices, to order what you like.

“Enriching experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

The concierge at the Sofitel sent us to Maison Bleue and said that it was the best restaurant in town. I'm certain that it is. Exciting ethnic music, fine service, and huge portions of great food. They give you the meal of the day, no choices, and include a bottle of wine per couple. Bill came to $127.00 for the two of us. A treat and a cultural experience too. Their modus operendi makes me think that reservations may be essential.,
