Description: Rick's Cafe Casablanca is a restaurant, bar and cafe located in the city of Casablanca, Morocco. Opened March 1, 2004, the place was designed to recreate the bar made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the movie classic Casablanca. Set in an old courtyard-style mansion built against the walls of the Old Medina of Casablanca, the restaurant - piano bar is filled with architectural and decorative details reminiscent of the film: curved arches, a sculpted bar, balconies, balustrades as well as beaded and stencilled brass lighting and plants that cast luminous shadows on white walls. There is an authentic 1930's Pleyel piano and As Time Goes By is a common request to the in-house pianist

“Best chili burger in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Love the atmosphere, the host is a wonderful American lady who always takes the time to have few welcoming words with her guests, the service is excellent, and so is the food, i personally go there for their amazingly tasty burger, and its the only place in Casablanca where you can ask for chili on the side! great cocktails and music, but always make a reservation as it s full most of the time. A definite must in Casablanca.

“Full of tourists!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

After dinner at sqala, we just wanted to check the place and have some moroccan tea, it was packed! if you want to dine here, you need reservations or you won't get a seat at all other than the one in the bar where we were actually seated. I didn't mind at all since we're just having tea but we were enjoying with all the casablanca setting around us so we had some cocktails, it was awful! I should have just ordered wine to be safe. Anyway, it's a good experience to visit the place or dine on a special occasion. Well actually I was looking at their menu and nothing really special in it, and it was overpriced too.

“it is a surprise, and a good one!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

The beautiful palace, the decoration, the world famous movie, the piano player... everything conspired for Rick's Cafe to become a tourist trap, but in fact it is not!
To our own surprise we found a table on a Friday night without a reservation (sheer luck, always book a table if you intend to eat there, as the place was full only 30 minutes later). The staff is extremely professional and well-trained, helpful, honest, fast but attentive. The menu choice is rather original, with a lot of attention to detail and to the combination of flavours. The wine list is sufficiently vast to meet satisfactorily different tastes. The ambience and the lighting are unbeatable and the piano live music may accompany a drink (excellent selection of international cocktails) after dinner. It is a good option for lunch as well, for instance if you have planned a visit to the Hassan II mosque, which is in the vicinity.
Maybe the only downside is the neighborhood around the restaurant, that one will see only by walking there... in fact there is nothing to see, so you don't miss anything by taking a cab (on that note: the cabs just outside the restaurant charge twice the normal fare, counting on unaware tourists to pay any price to leave that neightbood: beware!)

“Good food, atmosphere and fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

This was a highlight of our visit to Casablanca. The atmosphere created is wonderful and reminds you of the bar in the movie. The food was really good, the jazz lively and the service excellent. The owner even visits your table to make sure everything is going well. This is not just a place to go because of the movie, it is a truly good restaurant. Don't miss it.
