“Very noisy ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2015

I stayed one night at this hotel for a business trip. If you can try to get a room at the back of the hotel as the front is very noisy. The service was friendly, the breakfast ok and the room only so so. Wi-Fi was free and fast.

Taking a tour through Morocco, our group met for the first night at Oum Palace. I was not impressed.

Although the location was good and everything was clean, it felt like a city-centre business hotel rather than a location to experience Moroccan culture. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, wifi reception was fine, although the bathrooms were very cramped. Breakfast was average. Orange juice was terrible.

If you need a place to crash for business, this would probably be fine, but if you want to experience something a bit more, look further than Oum Palace. I will next time.

Room Tip: Maybe try to get a room on the back side of the hotel. The front side only looks out on an ugly, hal...

I am surprised to see so many bad reviews for this hotel. There was absolutely nothing bad about our experience with this hotel. We did only stay one night, but the food tasted good (not too much choice for a vegan, but that is quite common), beds were comfortable, room was clean. No objection to the staff, they were very swift with the keys and luggage, we were travelling in a big group. The location is very good, because it is easy to walk from the hotel and get the feel of the city.

It was the first hotel I lived in after arriving in Morocco, a normal, clean, traditional place. although the rooms were a little bit tiny. The hotel offers a very good breakfast and its location is in the center part of the city. So you can see many restaurants, different shops on the street.

Certainly my worst hotel experience I had in quite a while (potentially ever).
The reception smelled of fried fish, the room condition was horrible (old wall-to-wall red carpet, wall paper peeling off, overall poor condition), and to make matters worse, other guests just unlocked the door and walked in the room while I was in. The reception called me to inform me that the room is shown as vacant on their system, and that their colleague forgot to update their system!
Terrible experience. I'm glad I was there only for a short time before heading to the airport.

The hotel is a little old fashioned and dowdy, but well located. We had the dinner and breakfast buffet room almost all to ourselves and it was pretty good with enthusiastic staff. Had a laugh at dinner as the musak consisted of one song (Sorry seems to be the hardest word ) on a loop. After it had repeated 6 times we asked for a change, and they found a CD of Moroccan music. The corridors were dark and our view from the 1st floor very uninspiring. Wifi worked well and was free.

Room Tip: Higher up may be better.

We arrived at midnight and were first given a small dingy room at the side of the building, very small and enclosed next to the cleaners mess. We asked to change as this is not as per the website pictures and we booked at superior room. They changed our room but not much better and definately not like the pictures. This hotel is more of a 2*. The staff are not friendly at all, the beds hard, breakfast terrible, sauna you have too pay 15€ to use, gym is very old, wifi is near on non existent on connection in rooms, plumbing pipes keep you awake at night, no free water or minibar. The only plus is the location. But in Casablanca it is so spread out location is not important. Definately not worth the money.
