“Stay 'n go”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Don't have any high exepectations on this hotel. Just a sleep and a breaky and you'll be fine. It's located in a narrow side street in a somewhat shabby area. The view from the room is on the building next door, which will not exactly be Unesco listed. But the beds are OK and breakfast is acceptable. If you fly in to Maroc (normally you do via Casablanca airport) and you are on a budget this is an acceptable place. Nothing more, nothing less. Probably there is nicer stuff around if you care to spend more, but Casablanca is not exactly worth it. Rooms are a bit tatty but Hygiene is acceptable for Maroc-standards.

Room Tip: book another place if you want a good room, just stay, sleep and go!

We were told this was a new hotel; 4 Stars !
By anyone's rating it would be lucky to be 2 Stars.
The foyer is bright, modern, clean and even has a uniformed doorman !.
It has obviously been renewed or had a face lift.

The carpet on the stairs to the first floor are worn and soiled. Our second-floor room was a smoking room and there was smell like rotting cabbage in the corridor.
The air-conditioner took more than an hour to reduced the room temperature by one degree.
There were no instructions re the hotel or it's services.

The beds had plastic under-sheets [as for children who may wet the bed !] and pillows without pillow cases.
There were no tissues;face cloths; shower caps; iron or ironing board; desk light or clock.
The doors to the bathroom and mini-bar did not close properly; the fridge was empty and we were told later this was a 'dry' hotel.

The sink plug didn't fit; napkins at dinner had to be replaced as they were used/dirty; the internet connection was not available.
The food selection and quality were average - much lower than the prices

Suggest you avoid if possible.

This hotel looks like it had never been cleaned (dirty shower, sink, dirty windows, termostat etc.).
The mini bar was empty (nothing! was in). The view from the room was extra - just high walls from all sides and air condition. At 8.00 a.m. The smell of onions woke us up, so we didn t even have breakfast. Internet was working only in a small corner by the door. And all this for 130 eur/night!!!
Worst hotel ever! Very disapointed.

This hotel is a good place to stay only for a few days: breakfast is quite good, the staff is cordial and there is a spa with jim. I do not suggest this hotel for business trip: the wi-fi is not always ready and during the winter the hotel is in general quite humid.

A nice typical tourist hotel located close to city center. The staff was very helpfull and the rooms although pretty standard, were still great with comfortable beds.

Excellent location for tourists near the medina, Hassan II Mosque etc. Relatively silent -no night club and no alcohol in restaurant, minibars etc.The comfort of the room was OK. But..
I was not impressed by the personnel. They sent us up in an elevator without signs where to find our rooms. We had to go down and ask them to show the (quite complicated) way to the room. Perhaps they were ashamed of the more appropriate set of elevators, Signs of bad maintenance for ex of elevators. The safety box had no instructions and was locked-unusable, well no other boxes in other hotels in Marocco seem to work either. No contact for loading mobile phone, camera etc. Other guests used a contact in the bathroom, but we used the contact of the refrigerator, which is working also when you leave the room and take the key card out. No WiFi in the rooms (but probably in the lobby). Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Looks overpriced to me, but perhaps the location costs. When we were leaving they tried to charge us (and another guest in a group of twenty = 10 % of guests) for using the phone, which we definitely had not . Irrespective of cause and size of sum this is unacceptable. I would not personally recommend this hotel, but perhaps the good location and relative comfort of the room could compensate for the price and irritating shortcomings. Would you put your valuables in a safe in that reception?

The Oum Palace is a decent place to spend a night in Casablanca. The room was clean, the bed was reasonably comfortable but breakfast was really stingy. However, the hotel is in a good location for sightseeing in the area and there are a number of historical sites and shopping areas within easy walking distance. As it is Casablanca really doesn’t have much to hang around for so spend one night here then head to the more interesting parts of Morocco.
