“Very good location & very nice service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

the hotel is situated at the Street Anfa, it's a very classy district at casablanca.
the hotel rate is a little high (we got rates for 170$ per day).

unfortunately when i went this month they were renovating the lobby and making a new restaurant (i think it worth the noise).

the rooms are clean, spacious, with good air condition and a variety of TV channels.
the bathroom is big and the housekeeping are very good and make the room shine everyday.

the breakfast was fine with a good variety of food, egg station, fresh juice, fruits and much more.

the fitness center is very small nut i think they are renovating it also.

the worst thing was the pool, it was very small and at the 9th floor. the weather was a little bit cold so i couldn't try it.

the staff were good and very helpful they gave us the map of Casablanca and offered us any help we need.

If you have a saying in the hotel you will stay in Morocco and are considering staying at Le Palace D´Anfa, think twice. To call this hotel a four star would be a stretch. It seems that two or three families gathered and now are running this place in a horrible, unprofessional stile. To begin with, English is not spoken here. It is the first time that a hotel calls itself a 5 stars and does not employ any English speaking in their Staff.
Not speaking English is acceptable since most can say at least a couple of words in French but this is just to start with. It seems that cleaning is optional here and they have chosen not to. The windows are nasty, the counters are filthy, there is dust everywhere and the worst part of it is that it is not different in the rooms. I could hardly see trough the window because of dirtiness.
Now lets talk about the sleeping quality. It seems that this is a party hotel. One day they were having a wedding and guest were extremely loud. Called front desk 4 times, they did nothing and said they could not do anything because "they" were only one and could not leave front desk alone at night. The next day someone was having a private party in the room next to mine. Since I knew the drill, I had to knock on the door and complain myself. Dont expect much sleep then, specially cause once the parties are over, traffic begins. No sound proof windows, of course.
Another nice touch is the not working air conditioners. You can set yours to 5 degrees but still it would be better to stay outside. It gets so hot inside the rooms and so noisy if you open the windows that you might go somewhere else.
Beyond that, the pool is pleasant but really shallow. Breakfast has nice omelets. Apart form that, the rest is uneatable.
About Casablanca and the hotel location:
D´Anfa is a nice place with good stores and a couple of nice restaurants. You are near the twin towers which is kind of a hang out place for youngsters. You can easily find taxis in this region and here goes another tip: they have two types of taxis, what they call Grand Taxis (really old Mercedez) and Petit Taxis (small old fiats and Peugeots). The grand taxis are expensive and you have to negotiate and the petit (small) you go by the taximeter. But here is the tricky part. There are some new petit taxis (Renault Logan) that have meters but don´t want to use it. They will ask for a fare expecting you to negotiate. They will rip you off if they can.
A nice place to hang out is beach front with nice restaurants and bars. You must also go the the handcraft market and to the Great Mosque. Try to find in the market the olives quarter. You will delight yourself.
Lastly... Credit cards worth nothing in Morocco. You must exchange money, unfortunately. Expect temperature to vary abruptly, so bring a light coat if you will be leaving early and returning late. This is a business city with great restaurants but I would never recommend for tourism. Go to Fez, Marrakesh or Tangier instead.

Room was clean but very noisy (had asked for a quiet room), the rest of the hotel was not clean at all. Getting service in the restaurant or brasserie was painful. Lots of staff stood around chatting who treated the customers as an inconvenience when distrurbed.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

I spent 3 nights in the hotel, the rooms were a pretty good size - although it was bizarre having 2 double beds pushed together rather than one larger bed. The room had a nice en-suite, a desk, a free wired internet connection and access to a free wireless network - which was impossible to use. The wired one was fine though.

There was a TV, with lots of Arab channels and 1 or 2 in English, and a few in French.

One gripe I have about the room is the air conditioning was either really slow to work or just didn't work and let the room get hotel - despite being set to the lowest temperature.

The hotel had a reasonable breakfast buffet - with an omelette station, fresh fruit, juice bar, boiled eggs, and a variety of other things like pastries, dates, nuts, tomatoes etc.

I didn't eat dinner at the hotel as there are many restaurants nearby, which are cheaper and offer more variety.

There is a spa - offering massages, sauna and a hammam - along with a gym on the 7th floor. There is a pool on the roof which was great. I didn't use it as I didn't have time but it looked nice and gave a great view over the area.

The staff at the hotel were generally friendly - apart from the girls in the spa who acted like it was an inconvenience to move from their staff room, where they were lounging around. I was very surprised at just how little they actually wanted to bother with customers, so didn't use their services. The guys on the concierge desk were the most helpful and friendly people of all.

The hotel appears to be in an affluent area where lots of building work is taking place, so a side effect is the large amount of broken pavements and dust in the streets. However, there are many new buildings, restaurants, apartments and shops - largely high end - in the surrounding streets. Anfa seems to be much nicer than much of Casablanca. The location reminds me of how Dubai used to be about 12 or 15 years ago. I'm sure in a couple of years time it'll be nice and clean with great facilities.

One other thing to note is that even though I paid for my room in full on a hotel booking site, I was charged an extra 39 Dirhams a night for local taxes. It's not a huge amount but still annoying given that it was supposed to be included in the price I paid.

Without any offense, this is just another good business hotel at a good locations. Compared to the traditional house of the Royal Mansour this is a usual, modern business hotel with pleasant, clean rooms. The only annoying thing was the contsruction site with tons of dust. This however is not the hotels fault.

The hotel location is not bad, but not good: It is around 10 minutes taxi ride from all the main downtown stops of Casablanca (like the Port, the Medina, the Hassan II Mosque), and 45 minutes drive from the airport. However the place where it is located is not nice at all, just by a crowded dirty street.
The reception staff and the concigliere where quite friendly and happy to help.
My room had plenty of room but the forniture look a bit old-fashion. The bed was good but some lights were noisy. I would say the room is nothing special, for a 5 stars hotel, however as I have mention is has plenty of room. The bathroom was good. The room view was really bad, just facing buildings and a crowded street.
The internet connection was also good (but you have to pay, which I think it is crazy in a 5 stars hotel)...and it is free on the looby.
The swimming pool had no water !!!
Overall I would say it is a reasonable hotel, but not a 5 stars.

Nice business hotel. Rooms renewed recently.
Rooms are comfortable and clean.
Personnel is nice and kind. Well located, half-way of the corniche and city-center (you will not be far from many things)
I did not suffer from it, but you can clearly hear people talk in the corridor.
