“Quiet, new, but a few quirks”

Luxury spa

I arrived late to this quiet hotel in the side streets of the Gauthier district. The hotel arrange taxi transfer from the airport was expensive. I was pretty hungry when I arrived and everything around was closed - the host's response was "sorry we have no food"... C'est la vie.

Despite that odd welcome, the room was very comfortable (if somewhat over-designed) and the shower was fantastic. The street was quiet and I had a good sleep.

Breakfast was nice, with jams and pancakes, olives honey and cheese which was enough to distract me from the dinning room's kitsch decor.

Its a good hotel with aspirations slightly higher than it actually delivers.

Le Trianon is a nice modern boutique hotel that is located just blocks away from the Casablanca Twin Towers. Everything feels very new, and the front desk staff is really friendly. What keeps me from giving the hotel full marks is just a slight inattention to detail. The first room we were given was not made up even though we checked into the hotel in the late afternoon (and to be fair, the front desk was very apologetic and gave us a new room straight away). Also, one of the two beds in our room lacked a comforter/blanket (which we didn't realize until we went to sleep) and while the bathroom seemed clean, there was a stray, bunched up towel on the floor (perhaps that was intentional? I couldn't tell). All in all, though, it really was a nice stay. A word of warning to manage expectations: the twin room is really tiny - like the size you might see in NYC or London.

The rooms are very small but quite adequate unless you intend to spend a lot of time in your room then it would be best to upgrade to a suite. The en suite is also very tiny but again adequate. Our only compliant is that the drainage in our shower did not work well and neither did the seal around the base of the shower. We ended up with a very wet en suite each time we showered! The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed both the continental and Moroccan breakfasts. Free WIFI an a small fridge in the room. The position of the hotel is good as there are many small restaurants close by for evening meals. It is in a small one way road and it is very quiet. We felt very safe walking around all of Casablanca.
We did not try the spa as we did not have suitable clothing but we were told that the sauna was free to guests.

The hotel is very nice, it's a boutique hotel, small but very elegant and comfortable.
it's in a very safe and nice area, full of bars and restaurant.
I didn't see the SPA because i only stayed there for one night but I would go there again.
The WIFI is free!!!!

The hotel is new (the taxi driver could not find it) and the design is nice, but I was not satisfied with the service. The elevator wasn't working, the checkout took forever and the toilet bowl was leaking water. They have the potential to be a great hotel, but they aren't now.

Room Tip: not ready.

very new, good shower, near city center. it is too new that my taxi driver doesn't know the location, electronic key card doesn't work for a couple times. breakfast relatively less exciting compared to the others i had in morocco. would be better as a business hotel compared to leisure travel

Stayed twice (2 + 4 nights) at the Trianon, looking for a new place to stay in my regular visits to Casablanca. The hotel's design is nice and appealing, the location (Hay Gauthier) my preferred, and the beds are extra-large (1.80m wide) and very comfortable. The hotel has a small fitness room (the staff didn't always know how to turn the lights on, and no A/C as far as I could see) included in the price, and there is a spa too. This is it for the good things.
The bad things are first of all very tiny single rooms (avoid those ended on 03 and 07, they are the smallest ones) and you can barely walk on the space left by the bed. On my second stay, and after some complaining, I was given an excellent suite, can't certainly complain about this. They tried to put me back in a normal room on the next day but I said that if I was to move I would do it from the hotel and not from one room to another, and I ended up staying in the suite for the remaining 3 nights.
Then a poor insulation from neighbouring rooms, which puts one at the mercy of the (anti-) social behaviour of some guests next door(s) - this costed me a sleepless night from 2:30 onwards. The staff are nice and do their best, but seem lacking experience and probably even training, so things seem a bit too much left to amateurism. Breakfast is served at the table, this might be nice if it would be fast and you would be given better choice. I once waited 15 minutes for mine. Whilst the pastries are quite good, toasted bread was by no means fresh and warm. And in my 6 instances I never got fresh orange juice (of all places, Morocco is the country of good oranges!) and what I got when I wasked for it was an unacceptable excuse about the Aïd (which had passed anyway). Without much effort, the hotel could set up a solution of half-buffet (even if the available space is not enormous) and keep table service only for the drinks and special requests. I think that most guests would be happier, I would for sure! It is also a pity that they don't serve meals, so the restaurant is useless in the evenings and one has to go outside for eating, even when it's raining.
All together, the size of the single rooms (or the inadequate size of their beds which, being very nice and comfortable, are just too big for those rooms), the insufficiently professional training of the staff and the clearly improvable breakfasts are the factors making me not so much convinced about the cost/benefit ratio of this hotel (putting aside the suite I was given).
And last factor, also extremely unpleasant, was that I was requested to pay in full on arrival. They said that it was because they still didn't have a credit card terminal and could this not use cards as guarantee, but anyway it is very unpleasant to have to pay in full before even settling down. What if you are staying for one week or more? I saw a guest saying that, being asked to pay in advance, he would rather check in and out (and thus pay one night only) every day. Of course...

Room Tip: Avoid rooms ended on 03 and 07 they are the tiniest ones beacuse of rather useless balconies. And do...
