“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

The third largest mosque in the world and huge! We were told it has a sliding roof which is hard to believe as everything looked so solid. Good to experience a mosque visit but despite it being very beautifully decorated it left us a bit cold as it had no soul.

“Interesting and luxurious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

Well worth the visit, guided visits are available in at least 6 different languages. The Mosque is enormous and luxurious, and allows a glimpse into an area of other peoples' lives that is not as easy for many Western people to experience.

“Nice and very big”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

The mosque needs sum tender loving care, which it's getting now. The tour guides speak most languages. It could do with a good cafe and a souvenir shop.

“A must see in Casablanca!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

An incredible sight not to be missed, made the trip to Casablanca worth while. Visits for non Muslims are by guided tour only, guides are available in several different languages. When buying your ticket you will be directed to the waiting area for your language. Our guide spoke clearly and answered questions as we went along. Check opening times on arrival as tours start on time and are not available at pray times. You can always look around outside after. Try to go back after dark, when the Mosque is lit up.

“Incredible mosque”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

When in Casablanca definitely put this on top of your list. It is an incredibly beautiful building and the largest mosque in Africa, the minaret is the tallest religious building in the world. This is a new Mosque, completed in 1993. It was built at the request of King Hassan II (son of Mohammed V) and father of the present king and therefore named for him. It is huge and can accommodate 100,000 worshipers. The tours are very organized, by language and you pay an entry fee. It is very organized, not like some sites in Morocco where "guides" just walk up to you. Our guide spoke excellent English and was open to questions. Women do not have to cover their hair but you may do so out of respect. Please dress and act appropriately.
