“A very nice hotel in downtown Casablanca”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Nice modern rooms. The hotel has also a very friendly staff. Modern bathrooms. The beds are somewhat hard if you're used to high-comfort matrasses. Great view on top terrace, with a refreshing swimming pool. NIce hammam/sauna facilities.

The hotel has been refitted since HI days. Rooms are very elegant and staff are friendly and helpful. Great view from the pool, but too cold due to the weather on my visit. Moroccan restaurant is good. Breakfast quite expansive.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and because our departure time was very early in the morning, we booked two different reservation (one night with breakfast and the other nitht without breakfast). The reception did not understand well the reservation and they tried to give us two rooms for mywife and myself!? and even after we explained, gave us two different room type for each day as the rate was different. After explaining many times that the room should be the same and difference is only breakfast, they understood. We booked a king-size bedroom and we asked for it to make sure at the time of check-in but when we walked in to the room, the room had two signe beds, and we needed to go back to the reception to change the room.
The English level and quality at the reception people were not good enough as a 5 star hotel.
Quality and size of the lobby as well as breakfast quality and choice were also not a 5 star level.
Most of taxi drivers do not know this hotel and it was somewhat difficult to go to this hotel by taxi. There is another "Plaza hotel" in the medina area and "Crowne Plaza" near by. If you go to this hotel, you should have a map or address otherwise taxi drivers may take you to another hotel. This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn and it should be better to tell taxi drive as Holiday Inn near by Pl. Hassan II.

Room Tip: Try to choose a room away from main road to minimize the noise

This was a very adequate hotel, clean and in a good location. We arrived fairly late at night and left early the following morning, so we cannot comment on all of its facilities. The bedroom had a good view over part of the city. It would have benefited, however, with more power points for our electronic equipment.

We had an unpleasant experience in this hotel, which is currently called "Husa Casablanca Plaza" and managed by the Husa Group. Actually the bad feeling already started when booking through their own group website booking system. I made a mistake with the booking dates and tried hard to get in touch with them several times via emails and phone calls which they never replied, chasing them for days.
The double room we booked through their website cost Euro 118.-- (including taxes). When we checked-out and had to pay the bill, the receptionist asked us to pay 132 Euro! We showed him our reservation but he justified that with the exchange rate difference (which is not specified anywhere in their website nor in the reservation page). We had a terrible argument and left frustrated and angry on our first day of holiday. We had another night booked at this same hotel on our very last night in Morocco, which we obviously cancelled.
The room was OK, though the standard of the hotel is far from being that of a 5-star (and also the cleanliness of the rooms!).
There are better options in Casablanca, avoid this one.

Couple late 30's, stayed for 1 night

We stayed there before taking the plane back to london.
arrived from the train station - 50 dir, tourist price for any taxi drive in the city without the meter...
The hotel is modern, very clean, centrally located, 5/10 min to the mosque, 20 dir with the meter.
rooms are really nice, ample space, good beds and very modern with all the usual items.

however we were a bit disappointed because
- the outside pool is actually not heated
- sauna is not included in the price (gym is)
- spanish restaurant was not opened
- you can smoke in the main restaurant area (european food was fine btw)
- they made us pay at check out before realising we had already done so when we booked

otherwise, the mosque tour is one hour (120 dir) and well worth it
The hotel has a taxi service to the airport, 300 dir , 45 min.

Stayed 3 nights in September on business. Being renovated not long ago, this hotel exceeds many in Casablanca but has a number of downsides.

Its reasonably centrally located, however that means its very noisy. Most of the day the road outside is choked with traffic resulting in endless tooting of horns etc. The noise dies down by about 10 at night, thankfully. The traffic snarls means that driving to and from the hotel can be very slow. Always allow much more time than usual, even for Casablanca.

When the tram is operating, there will be a stop right outside the hotel and this will make access much better.

I had a great deal of trouble with the wi-fi- it kept dropping out; the wi-fi is free.

There is a decent bar and a casual style restaurant and a more up-market Moroccan restaurant. I only used the casual style one. The food was OK to good, but frequently very slow to come.

Service was, on the whole, good.

There is a roof top pool which is very nice in the late afternoon for cooling down. Drinks are served there, but can be hard to get anyone's attention.

We used he meeting rooms which were good, albeit a bit expensive ($70/hr I think, incluiding coffes).

On the whole, not bad, although my experience with wi-fi means that I may not return here. Otherwise its a good choice.

Room Tip: Noisy location, so the higher the better. Rooms right on the end have a more spacious lay-out
