“Good for business travelers but not a 5 star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

Couple late 30's, stayed for 1 night

We stayed there before taking the plane back to london.
arrived from the train station - 50 dir, tourist price for any taxi drive in the city without the meter...
The hotel is modern, very clean, centrally located, 5/10 min to the mosque, 20 dir with the meter.
rooms are really nice, ample space, good beds and very modern with all the usual items.

however we were a bit disappointed because
- the outside pool is actually not heated
- sauna is not included in the price (gym is)
- spanish restaurant was not opened
- you can smoke in the main restaurant area (european food was fine btw)
- they made us pay at check out before realising we had already done so when we booked

otherwise, the mosque tour is one hour (120 dir) and well worth it
The hotel has a taxi service to the airport, 300 dir , 45 min.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Stayed 3 nights in September on business. Being renovated not long ago, this hotel exceeds many in Casablanca but has a number of downsides.

Its reasonably centrally located, however that means its very noisy. Most of the day the road outside is choked with traffic resulting in endless tooting of horns etc. The noise dies down by about 10 at night, thankfully. The traffic snarls means that driving to and from the hotel can be very slow. Always allow much more time than usual, even for Casablanca.

When the tram is operating, there will be a stop right outside the hotel and this will make access much better.

I had a great deal of trouble with the wi-fi- it kept dropping out; the wi-fi is free.

There is a decent bar and a casual style restaurant and a more up-market Moroccan restaurant. I only used the casual style one. The food was OK to good, but frequently very slow to come.

Service was, on the whole, good.

There is a roof top pool which is very nice in the late afternoon for cooling down. Drinks are served there, but can be hard to get anyone's attention.

We used he meeting rooms which were good, albeit a bit expensive ($70/hr I think, incluiding coffes).

On the whole, not bad, although my experience with wi-fi means that I may not return here. Otherwise its a good choice.

Room Tip: Noisy location, so the higher the better. Rooms right on the end have a more spacious lay-out

Set in the central business district of Casablanca. You can only be visiting this city on business, not a tourist destination. Expensive hotel, everything works, food not bad, staff helpful. Roof top restaurant with swimming pool served a nice Ramaddan Ftour (feast?)

Room Tip: There are 16 floors in this modern hotel. Go as high as possible to get away from the city noise. 8t...

This was our first and most expensive hotel stay during an 8 day backpacking tour of Morocco. We had heard that Casablanca is not very tourist-friendly, which we found to be the case, so we wanted to make our first night very comfortable to sleep off a red-eye flight and rest up for our travels. I forgot a toothbrush and a comb, which the hotel provided in the room. The pool is gorgeous, but we didn't have time to use it. We were on the 9th floor and could still hear constant honking on the streets below, which is just a reality of Morocco's bigger cities.

Good location 15 mins on foot from tourist attractions, easy to find unlike the medina hotels. Pool on top has great views - a pity there's no bar/restaraunt there.

The real name after the renovations is the Husa Plaza Hotel. Very good renovations, if I believe the negative critics of a few years back. The room was spacious, the bed excellent, and the bathroom fine. All very clean. Windows do not open - at least not at the 11th floor.
The breakfast was very fine, despite you could feel there a certain tensed atmosphere as in business hotels in Europe.
The swimming pool at the top is nice, and the spa looks charming as well. I visited it but had no time for using the services. I understood that a gommage/scrubing hammam wold be around 20 euros and a 45' massage 25 euros... pity I could not make time this time.
The staff is very helpful. It is more to the management level that I would advise to split between the reception staff and the switchbord. The guys at the reception should not be both face-face serving guests and answering the switchboard. Not in a 5-star establishment for sure.
Also, I tried to reach the hotel on a Sunday to confirm my booking for the day after, Monday. They were running crazy at the reception and barely could take the time to help me on the phone, despite their efforts. Eventually, when they terminated their work with a big group visiting them, they did not have access to the reservation data! Obviously, something is to be done at this level.
Also, as it is common, the cashier tasks should not be implemented by the reception, itself manned by two people only. It's too chaotic.
Except this advice to the management level (that is split tasks from the reception), it has been a very pleasant stay there. In relation to my critics, I would not know to rate it as a low 5* or a high 4*... somewhere in the middle probably.
Go for it!
