“Well, if you like going to malls on your holiday....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

This Mall claims to be the "Biggest in Africa" and who am I to argue?

It is clearly very popular with the locals: the massive car parks were oversubscribed, so some locals are making good money renting parking spaces in their fields.

I got the impression that there was a connection between the Mall & Galleries Lafayette, but was not clear what it was. GL are certainly building a large store in Marrakech, so perhaps this is the start of a launch into Morocco?

The place is full of retail brands that were all too familiar: Next, New Look, Pull & Bear, to name few.

Depressingly, one could have been anywhere in the world: there were no local reference points at all, together with the usual lack of air. For Moroccans with money & aspirations, however, this place is clearly the last word in sophistication - the place was packed with families.

There is a particularly ghastly children's fair, where the noise level had to be experienced to be believed.

There are a couple of huge 'Objet D'art' completely lacking in any explanation, the centrepiece being the largest aquarium I have ever seen, filled with tropical fish which one would never see off Morocco's coast.

All in all I couldn't wait for my hosts to decide that they wanted to leave, so we could get back to the real Morocco....

“A bit of a disapontment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Very Western with US brands. The interior is lovely but there is not much but high end stuff. The aquarium was pretty but I can't see wanting to scuba dive in it. The fountains apparently only play on weekends. Overall, if you don't have time to kill, don't go.
The Sook section is very sparse and high end-not what you would think

“Nice architecture, but I'll pass on the rest...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

The Mall is in a very nice location, very wide, nice stores, Etc.. But I think the Prices are EXTREMELY High! They're higher than the USA/EUROPE.
The Musical/Dancing Fountain plays every now and then, which I don’t see why having one.
Oh, one more! As I'm a Starbucks lover, I had a cup of coffee, and I can assure you it is not the same coffee.

Nice architecture very competitive to western malls, location near the beach, big aquarium in the center, very high prices than USA, lacking nice restaurant and good products. It's worth to visit but avoid the weekends,
