“Excellent seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2014

We were a group of eight and showed up at 10 minutes to eight on a week night. The door was locked and when we managed to get someone's attention, we were told that the restaurant would open at 8pm and it was only after some negotiating that we were let in. The rest of the evening, however, was pleasant. Apart from the slow service, the food was excellent and the seafood was clearly very fresh. We tried a selection of tapas - the portions were large enough to be shared and I went with the lobster and dory dish, which was delicious. The restaurant gets pretty crowded so ensure that you book ahead.

“All around- Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

Great atmosphere and service. Creative seafood preparation. We had a party of 8, and it was a great selection. Would be just a good for a couple. this was my second time dining here (first time was 3 years ago). I will definitely return on my next trip to Casablanca.

“Really good food but don't be fooled by the terrace !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

I laughed out loud at a previous review - you do drive through a deeply impoverished part of Casablanca to get to this restaurant but it's great . We booked a table on the terrace ... It's effectively an indoor conservatory - no view . But food and wine good . I'm a fish only person and the soupe fruit de la mer was delish and there was a good choice of mains . Enjoy it !

“Like finding a pearl in a turd.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

We had dinner at El Cenador on our last night in Morocco. It was by far the most expensive meal we ate in Morocco but it was also one of the best. We actually didn't plan to go here but wanted to find a nice restaurant on the corniche and this was the first one we could see in our taxi coming from the main hotel zone… it really didn’t look like there was ANYTHING else around so we stopped here.

We had the royal paella and it was fantastic - service was great and the restaurant was really nice inside. Overall it was a very good experience.

The only problem is that the restaurant is in a really slummy area that feels very unsafe at night - we ordered a taxi from the restaurant when we had finished and when it arrived the taxi driver got into an argument with one of the car park staff and was punched. We stupidly still got into the taxi and the driver was clearly upset, telling us that the restaurant was run by the mafia and told us we had
to pay him a ridiculous amount of money to take us back to our hotel otherwise he would leave us in the slums. Unfortunately that put a bit of a downer on the experience. I would highly recommend driving yourself there or organising a driver you can rely on (from a hotel or something).

Afterwards we found out that there are many more restaurants along the corniche further west a few kilometers. Next time I would try this area because it looks like there is more choice and is a more interesting/fun/safe area to be.

“Avoid at any cost.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Poor, really poor quality food. Spanish cuisine? No way!
From the cocktails to the fish, everything is a disgrace to what a good fish retaurant should be.
Just run away really.
The service, although the staff is very nice and helpful, is slow, it's like eating in a time warp where time slows down and shuts itself down. They're overwheled.
The fish is overcooked and extremely expensive when you know that all of the competitors are 30% cheaper.
