Morocco is a wonderful tourist location and if you are looking for an exotic and diverse holiday you sure have to check out for the 4x4 morocco tours that offer some excellent packages to travel across the desert dunes one side and the great Atlas Mountains on the other side of the country.

“Day trip to Essaouira”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2014

I cannot recommend Sun Trails more highly and we will be using them again when we go back to Morocco to finish our adventure. The last week in November we spent a week touring Morocco with Sun Trails but due to complications because of the weather we had to change our itinerary and although I am not allowed to write a review for Sun Trails about our fantastic tour, this review is for our day trip to Essaouira. The day was fantastic, Oualid's english and driving excellent and because of Oualid's experience he was able to give us local tips, stop of the sights on way and even for the goat's in an Argan tree photo shot. Fantastic!

“Sun Trails - Who could ask for anything more?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2014

We just finished a 6-day tour of Morocco with Sun-trails and are filled with appreciation and admiration for the beauty of the country, the kindness of everyone we met, and the flawless way that Sun Trails designed every aspect of our journey. Walid (the driver extraordinaire who narrated and navigated for us with intelligence and skill in a very comfortable four-wheel drive vehicle over every type of terrain) and Cristian (the owner of the company who is attentive to every detail and who ensures that every aspect of the sites and accommodations are up to his high standards) were fully responsible for our unforgettable experience. Truly, this is a tour company unlike any other. The highlights:

-A varied and complex itinerary that they manage seamlessly – We went from Marrakesh to the Atlas mountains, to Skoura, the dunes at Merzouga, Fez, Meknes, and Rabat in 6 days and, at every moment (rain or shine), Cristian and Walid were planning ahead, so that we were always met by hotel or restaurant staff, medina guides, desert guides and other experts as soon as we arrived at our destination. Cristian answered our enquiry email right away and came back with itinerary options with lightning speed. It all functioned like clockwork. Like great producers, they did all the coordination behind the scenes so that it felt seamless.

-Spectacular accommodations – Whether we were in the tents in the dunes, a Kasbah in Skoura or a riad in Rabat or Fez, each accommodation was unique, luxurious, comfortable and welcoming. And an aesthetic feast! Each had an amazing sense of style and art collections. We were so struck with the paintings in one of the riads, that the staff called one of the galleries that the owner buys from and we had an immediate opportunity to pore over hundreds of pieces of art for sale by contemporary Moroccan artists. At dinner, the owner shared stories about the lives of a number of the Moroccan artists he was collecting. (NOTE: Sun Trails offers options in terms of luxury and expense for accommodations, which is great. Don’t hesitate to ask a lot of questions, because they are not typical hotel accommodations. For instance, one of the riads that we stayed in had incredibly steep stairs and we were on the third floor…it was OK for a couple of nights, but would not work if you have even relatively minor mobility issues. There are other options.)

-Knowledgeable about the history, geography, culture and daily life of Morocco – We bombarded them with questions as we traveled the country and both Walid and Cristian were encyclopedic in their knowledge and did immediate research if they couldn’t answer.

-They are the coolest, most charming and most entertaining travel companions –What a joy it was to travel with both Walid and Cristian! They shared great Moroccan music, expanded our Arabic & Berber vocabulary (and spoke perfect English!), told interesting stories, and made us feel completely safe and at home at every moment. They laughed at our jokes and our neuroses (we’re from New York!) and responded immediately if we expressed an interest in seeing something unexpectedly.

The one thing that Sun Trails was not able to do was control the weather. It was cold and raining for at least part of the day for most of our trip and, by the 4th day of rain, it almost seemed like a good idea to forget exploring the soggy medina and just sit in the riad in front of a fire. The good part of bad weather, however, was that there weren’t many tourists in most places and we sometimes were the only guests in the hotel/riad.

From our starting point in Marrakech to the send-off at the airport in Casablanca, Sun Trails made sure that we could concentrate on learning about and enjoying this amazingly beautiful country and took care of every detail. Who could ask for anything more?

“Best way to see Morocco”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2014

This is a company that pays attention to the details and is very helpful every step of the way; you will enjoy the time you spend with your driver and guide (ours was Oualid) and you will learn a lot about the country and the sites. If you have any problems, Christian, who runs this company, will go out of his way to help. You have a lot of flexibility to choose what you want to see and do -- work with them to organize a wonderful vacation.

“Great Day Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2014

Had booked this trip before visiting Marrakech, and any questions I had were always promptly answered.
We were picked up from our riad at 9.00 by Boujeema and set of for a trip 'Atlas and the Lake', Boujeema was so knowledgeable and made our trip so interesting, we had a short camel ride which had again been arranged beforehand before continuing by car we then stopped and had mint tea at a Berber village it was great to look around there house. The scenery was stunning and we were able to stop and take many photos. We had lunch at Douar Samra, the tagine was so tasty!.
This was a great day trip to have a break from the bustle of Marrakech, the scenery from snow capped mountains to red Berber villages and goats being tended by the side of the road, it was a super day with Boujeema he was so courteous and informative.
Would hightly recommend Sun Trails, there attention and help throughout cannot be faulted thankyou Cristian and Boujeema
