“Decent stopover point”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

Hotel Amoud is exactly what the travel books and websites describe – a decent, relatively inexpensive stopover point before or after flights in and out of Casablanca. It was clean and quiet, with plenty of hot water, friendly staff, and located centrally enough to have easy walks to the Hassan V Mosque, Casa Voyaguers train station (without luggage!), and to stroll around the area enjoying some of the neat old architecture of the former French era. (Note that my companion and I are inveterate walkers!)

little worried about the hotel if its safe and clean or not but it was totally fine.
room was clean, cleaning ladies are smily and nice, good attitude. but receptionist guy wasnt such good.

no one can come in except the common hall only regidents can take an elevator it made me feel safe. hotel room is enough clean except the inside of the shelf. hot shower worked properly, toillet flash okay, clean sheets no bugs, AC worked very well, it wasnt such cheap if compare to the neighbourhood hotels so it might be worth to the price?

they have little market and shisha cafe at the neighbourhood and also not far from the old medina, station was little far by foot so needed to take a RIPPING OFF taxi was about 500(MAD) from the train station.

early in the morning like about 5am... big speaker announcement for the prayers from mosque waking u up... it was very very laud then annoying but i cant complain about that in this country. it happens everywhere! :P

Room Tip: i think most of the rooms are fine and same. just you can ask them to check if you want.

I stayed here one night in a twin room. The room and bed were "older" and the bathroom had a bidet. There are at least ten other hotel within two blocks. Google earth may help identify their names because they were not coming up on the usual search engines. Many choices for cafes and restaurants around the hotel. Five minute walk to the main plaza and fifteen to the medina. The front desk spoke broken English. The breakfast was not worth the price.
Good luck.

If you are backpacking across Africa and only have enough money to stay at a hostel then you can splurge for one night and stay here, where you can get a basic room for yourself. It's clean enough. If you are looking for a 3 star hotel this is NOT one. It is a very basic hotel with very basic rooms. It is in a dirty, dodgy area of Casablanca, which is not safe to walk around at night. The front desk clerk spoke just enough English, but they are of no help what so ever. You have to carry your own luggage up to your room and back down. They won't even call you a taxi. Instead, they direct you to walk down the street and try to flag one down yourself. The service sucks! When we arrived at our room the cleaning lady was just finishing. She did not smile or say hello. It was if hotel guests were a burden to her. They do have free internet downstairs in the lobby (but with a French/ Arabic keyboard - so bring your laptop). In our room it was noisy, due to street traffic. The bed was small (a double) so it's tight for couples. There is no clock in the room, so bring your own alarm clock. The hotel is so cheap you get your t.v. remote control when you check in because they don't trust their guests. They also turn the lights off in the hallways, which make it pitch black (so bring a flashlight too). The breakfast was okay, but it was definitely CONTINENTAL-style and is brought to you in the dining room. There are no second helpings. There is also no heater control in your room. It's controlled centrally by the hotel. I would definitely NOT stay here again.

We stayed only one night in Casablanca before our departure flight home. Hotels in Casa seems to be crazy expensive. I picked the Hotel Amoud for its reasonable rates and amenities and it was terrific for our short stay. It isn't a cozy riad, it's rather a business hotel, but it was all good. Rooms were a little colorless, but with very clean, full-amenity bathrooms. For this reason, I give it an overall 4 instead of a 5.
Since our stay was so short, I don't really know if it's in a good location. Hotel staff were very helpful to get us oriented to taxi cabs and it was pretty easy for us to catch cabs to get to Rick's Cafe, to the Hassan II mosque, and to the airport.
I would recommend Hotel Amoud as an alternative to huge chain hotels at a far more reasonable price. You don't need to spend the extra money in Casablanca on the hotel room .

If you're looking for five star luxury look elsewhere, however, if you're looking for a clean and reasonably priced place to stay in a decent area of Casablanca, this fits the bill. We stayed here just for a night before our flight home in the morning. The room is simple but clean. We felt comfortable here and have no reservations about recommending it to others.

Cold. I mean that I couldn't feel even little welcome. The receptionist was so cold like a real machine. Good English but very bad attitude.

No hair Dyer.

No idea whether the blancket has been washed before.

The room is very typicle 3 star. But its pity that they really don't know how to look after it.
