“Pleasant Business Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

The hotel is in a great location, rooms are very good, staff were friendly, internet connection was good, the main restaurant was really good.
All round very good. I cant say that it was great but an easy, safe option for a business trip

Whilst superficially the Kenzi is a smart modern hotel, I had a poor experience of the service. I had been watching TV, and at 23.15pm decided to go to sleep as I had an early start the next day. I tried to turn the TV off , but the remote control did not work. I tried to turn the TV off on the set itself, but this did not work. As I could not find the mains switch, I rang room service to assist. They said they would be up immediately. One hour and five chasing calls later at 12.15pm when I was extremely tired and quite irritated that I was being ignored, someone turned up to switch off the TV, I suspect because I had said I would inform tripadvisor of their poor service. A friend of mine had a similar experience with the poor service at the hotel that same night. He needed help with the wifi set up, but he only had to wait 20 minutes and chase twice. Not what I would expect of a five star hotel!

Room Tip: Check that the remote control works on your tv, and ask at reception how to work the wifi.

A good quality hotel in the heart of Casablanca. Rooms are clean and spacious and the bathrooms are large and well equiped. The restaurant on the top floor is excellent with good service, great food, nicely presented and with most tables having a stunning view of the distant seaside, Grand Mosque and the city scape. The club just above the restaurant is also a nice setting with music till 1am. The club music means you should not book a room on the top two floors or so as the bass carries down a few floors.
Staff are very nice and in moving me down from the top floor the duty manager - Abderrazak and Director of rooms - Katia were very helpfull and considerate.

Room Tip: top two floors can hear the club music and lower floors get the street noise, so suggest floors 8...

I wrote a review earlier on Kenzi highlighting some deficiencies. I checked in again very recently and am pleasantly surprised on the improvements.

The hotel was always very modern and centrally located (its a business hotel).

Internet is now free and they got rid of the paid system which was operationally crap besides being expensive. ANd they have ketchup :).

English speaking staff is still a bit of a problem but I cant hold that against a Francophile nation. But the staff try. And I value that. Some numbers dont get picked up (e.g. Guest relations), dont know why.

Room Tip: I prefer high floors for a view as the hotel has no balconies. Sea facing is always pleasant as a vi...

Stayed in this hotel only because it's just next door to our office in Casablanca. I was very positively surprised with the quality, service, professionalism + yes, I knew about the location in walkable distance to the Hassan II Mosque and other sightseeing (even with the biztrip's packed schedule didn't allow me to enjoy it all..). Rooftop bar has an amazing view and highly recommended for a sunset drink.

Hotel is just average. Rooms were nice and large. Appeared to be clean. What makes it average is that it is showing its age...particularly in the public areas. For example, take the fountain wall in the SkyBar. It is a really nice feature but it has water scales all over it...clean it up. I found the personnel fine. The concierge was very helpful in finding a good restaurant and getting a taxi. The view from the top floor SkyBar is very nice.

We only came here for a drink in the panoramic drinks bar on the 28th Floor so we cannot comment upon any other part of the Hotel's operation.

We had just been to the world famous mosque in the city and wanted a high floor photo of it at sunset, which we got on the 28th Floor. The hotel staff did not mind us photographing the mosque and the shaded light at sunset with the sea in the background and city roofscape in the foreground was special.

Now, security is good in the hotel. We went to the concierge desk and asked to go to the drinks bar, which we were permitted to do.

The lift system is unusual. You press the number of the floor ..."27" on the control panel OUTSIDE the lift in the lift lobby then wait for the first lift, which will take you to the 27th Floor. On the 27th there is a nearly vertical water feature, which you do not expect on a high floor. Good thinking by the interior designer. Walk up one floor so I did not see a disabled access although one might be present to the 28th floor. As you can imagine the bar goes around 3 sides of the hotel and the side facing the mosque and sea is the most popular. If you cannot find an appropriate seat then walk around and take your photograph.

A tip for you, the hotel knows the value of the view and we did buy one round of drinks there so they did not mind us taking photographs.. Try to pick the windows which do not have mullions as these impair the view. The cocktails were expensive but it was worth paying for one round just to get the experience. In a hotel of this standard the toilets were acceptable and they are available on the 28th floor.

One warning, our guide had his own car and we drove around for about 20 minutes in this congested part of town until we found a parking space not too far from the hotel. If possible we recommend taking a taxi or walking to the hotel.

I would conjecture that children would not be allowed in the drinks bar and we did not see any.

Be warning the traffic congestion in Casablanca is worse than Istanbul and that is saying something. We found several gridlocked road junctions but fortunately our guide (Costas from Agadir) knew the back streets so we avoided them. Allow extra journey time to reach the hotel.

If you stay at this hotel ask for a view towards the Hassan II mosque/sea.

Regards.

Chris & Anna.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor well above the traffic's noise as drivers always use their vehicle horns!
