“Should not have been worried”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Just back from a lovely stay in the Royal Atlas Hotel. Having read some previous reviews we were abit worried about staying in this hotel. However there was no need. The hotel is in a great location, the main promenade area and beach are right behind the hotel, where there are lots of good restaurants. The hotel itself was very clean and our room was serviced everyday. The pool was clean and well maintained, and the pool bar staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. We were all inclusive and found this to be off no disadvantaged. The buffet restaurant could get a bit tiring, however we ate at the Mororrican and Italian restaurant once each, which was included in our all inclusive. They were both nice. The breakfast was very busy, however there were chefs cooking fresh crepes, waffles and omelettes made to order each morning. The 2 bars were the pool bar and the stone bar. In the pool bar the service was very quick and service was at the bar. In the stone bar we ordered at the bar and the waiter brought the drinks to the table, this took a bit of time, as did the drinks service in the restaurants. However we compensated for this by order a large bottle of wine each time.
I had a hamman and massage in the hotel which was well worth it. Check out the spa for different deals, which work out to be quite good value.
If this hotel was in the UK, it would be between a 4 and a 5 star.
We also took the little train around Agadir, which was good. I would also recommend a visit to the Souk. Being a young female, I was worried that I might get some hassle, but this was really not the case. I found that everyone was really friendly and helpful and generally had a good sense of humour. The orange taxis only take 3 people and are about 25 dirams, the white taxis are a bit more expensive (50 dirams)but take up to 6 people. However you need to agree a price before you get in.

I stayed at this hotel last week and loved it. The staff are very helpful and efficient - we needed to get a doctor and it was all organised hassle free.
The hotel itself is quite luxurious and a great place to relax in the evening as agadir is quiet and any visitor wouldn't spend much time outside if the hotel so it is worth it to select a nice place to stay.
The only criticisms really is that the music in the bar is far too loud (and not great!) which is a shame as the bar itself is gorgeous
A little more attention to detail here and there is needed but in general I'd really recommend it.
It's spotlessly clean which is a huge plus for me.

Ok just had a week here, by accident as it transpired as where we did book into (tafoukt beach) didn't have a room for us them moved us nextdoor which was the royal atlas, fair play we got the same room grade but 5 star instead of 4.

lets start with the good things;
it's a very nice hotel inc decor
relaxed atmosphere
languages were never an issue
close to beach
themed restaurants are quite good
pool bar staff are good
cleaners do a good job, room made up every day

Not so good things;
Buffet restaurant got pretty busy, quite a few rude guests and food monotonous
some staff a bit wierd and blew hot and cold
only 1 bar to have a beer in the evening
General public areas outside of hotel grounds (agadir) are grubby and unclean
sunbeds difficult as they get 'reserved' then can go unused
Plenty of beggars

I have been there with my husband in may 2013. We spent there 2 weeks. Location is great, near the beach, the city centre and the fish port. We had a room with side oceanview, in moroccan style. It was easy to go for a walk in the evening along the Corniche. Food wasn't good, so monotonous and not tasty. We were in the beginning of the may and the water in the pool was cold and the weather was very windy. It was impossible to stay on the beach after 2pm. We have sand everywhere. I recommend to go to fish port to eat seafood, quite inexpensive and very fresh and tasty.(about 30 min from hotel). We had longer walk to souk El Had-45 min, but it worth it. You can see there a lot of vegetables and fruit, you can buy souvenirs cheaper than on Corniche.

Spent Xmas 2'10 here and woz very disappointed . It seem t take forever t get ther from the airport ... Once there it was lovely with a grand entrance and lovely authentic deco but soon as you gt t the rooms it was just a travel lodge or premium inn with morel an curtains and bedding!!,! Food was not good birds throughout threw the dinning rooms .... Night time entertainment was 1 guy singing same songs in 3 different languages which I didn't understand .... The spa was hidden fees and the night club next door Akbars well that burnt a whole in your pocket faster than you got a tan ....hotelmwoz great location but at the same time the little kids begging for money every night in the square got rather cheeky and tiring as itbwas the same kids every night .......wudntbrecommend this hol for families or the ladies or ne1 for that matter we op tx for days out in activities which wer wrongly advertised and over priced swell as under travel timed :/ xamplnwe opptd for range in sand dunes and got 4x4 trek in the atlas mountains , another thought we were of quad biking and ends up on nights in a barn for refreshenmts with few flies and n very little light we did drink n eat the food but jus uncomfy and notbat all what we expected but we did go shark before agaric so it did have a lot t live up too

Room Tip: Beach view rooms gawjuss views off the ocean and across the whole beach

Last day one 1 PM. We have almost 3 hours to the departure let's sit down at the pool so the children can play.We can not take any drink more, our all inclusive status is over. Our friend meets an acquintance from other group. They are talking sharing experience when somebody takes her a beer. In 10 secounds the waiter almost breaks his leg jumps there and grabs the beer from her arms. We were angry but not surprised. Welcome in Royal Atlas.

I paid 800eur/ps (flight, hotel, all inclusive). For that price in many countries I got a service uncompareable with that one in Royal. If you go there for a very low price it can be but do not expect half of the sevie level of an average Turkish hotel.

Room: quite good nothing special. New furniture, new TV, but the walls in toilet and bathroom haven't be painted for many years.

Facilities: Spa, fitnessroom, pool, they are all right

Restaurant:Monotonous, poorly organized not many cuisine to choose from.

Staff: some of the lowest ranked employees helpful( for tips) and friendly. In bars, lobby unpleasant and bored.

Surroundings: In fact there is nothing, Beach, sand and some dirty restaurants.
Entertainment for Children: There is a mini club with digged in the ground but nothing besides that.

Quality: this is a hotel which wants to charge you as a five star hotel but does not even has an idea whatis 5 star based on. For some reasons they don't use bracelet for all inclusive guests so they have to check all the time if you are entitled or not. At the dinner you have to be very patient to get some freshly prepared food they can not simply organize it.

I came back with very bad impression especially that I am not a person who expects that everybody will breaks his back to serve me. But I expect some minimal level which I didn't got there. Far the worse place I have ever visited.

The location could not be better, the beach is great, offering plenty of space and the finest sand, and some welcome privacy in a surrounding often exposed to peddlers of all kinds, rooms are pleasant, clean and well-equipped, they offer space and quiet, but the real issue is the restaurant. The self-service restaurant is trying to convert everyone to its vision of Moroccan cuisine, and it becomes unbearably monotonous after some time - attempts to serve anything else are scarce and uneven in quality, service is chaotic especially at dinner time. The two "theme" restaurant are Italian and, guess what, - Moroccan, food is better than in the buffet restaurant, but the service is quite slow.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea
