“BEST HOLIDAY EVER !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2009

We just returned from a fantastic holiday at this hotel and I have no qualms to say that this has been the best holiday ever - thanks to the fantastic work of the Animation Team - Faycal, Khalid (or Professor as we have now named him), Karim, Bash, Kazoo and Mamaduu - these guys went above and beyond to make our holiday one to remember.

Yes if you look close, the main pool area does need a "facelift" but not once did this stop us enjoying ourselves - we got stuck in and joined in all the games, activities and shows (and there was plenty of them). Food can be a bit repetative but there's the snack bar and plenty of themed restaurants available so there are plenty of choices should you want a change from the buffet restaurant. Only real downside to this hotel and that is that there is steps everywhere (no lift at all) so for those with young children with prams, or for the disabled or elderly then please bare this in mind when booking.

Rooms are spacious and clean - maid came every day and brought fresh new towels daily. Hotel is clean and beautifully landscaped and all staff were polite and welcoming and spoke good English so no real language barriers. There is a private beach area which is across the road from the hotel - with gorgeous golden sand and very clean. Shopping is great in Morocco jsut remember to haggle and never pay the first asking price (and yes the shoppers do try to get you to go into their shops but as long as you are polite and say no, then there is never any hassle - really the Morroccans are really friendly).

We had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic new friends while we were there who just added to the whole holiday - thanks to Lesley (the mad one), Steve (our barman), Jason, Tracey, Tony, Danielle, Georgia, Grandma, Grandad, Tracey, Aaron, Tracey, Tammie and last but not least - everyone's ray of sunshine .... little Asha - thanks all, your really did help make our holiday xx

Please expereince this hotel for yourself and you won't be disappointed at all - Morocco is a fantastic place to visit - we are already looking at booking again for next October with our new found friends.

PS the weather in October was in the 40's so hot, hot, hot

Hi we stayed at the Tamlelt side of this hotel and have just returned after 2 weeks there. We were a family of 7 including our 2yr old, 2 teenage girls, myself, my partner and 2 grandparents (eldest being 80).
The first thing I have to say is that there are loads and loads and loads of steps especially on the Tamlelt side. The Caribbean side not as many but still quite a few, also note there is no lift on the Tamlelt side and we were on the top floor which having a pram was a nightmare and by the end of the holiday was casuing a few problems for our eldest traveller.
The rooms were very large, spacious and clean, with fresh towels everyday. We had 2 four bedded room, one had 4 twin beds and the other had 2 twin beds and bunk beds.
On first arrival the complex was like a maze but you soon find your way around. The hotel complex is quite tired in places but if you look beyond all the nooks and crannies and relax you really do have a good enjoyable holiday.
The food can be quite repetetive if you have the buffet for both lunch and evening meal but we ate at either the buffet restaurant or snack bar in the day and then went to the Specialist restaurants in the evening. This makes mealtime more exceiting and relaxing. In the specialist restaurants it is all waiter served but it is a set menu. We especially enjoyed the Oriental and the steak house which we went to twice.
The animation team really made our holiday especially for my 2 teenage girls, they didnot want to leave. They work very hard and always have a smile on their faces. A special thank you has to go to Mammadu, Bash, Faycal,Kazoo, and Khalid. And also to Jawed and Redouin from the kids club who my 2 year old fell in love with.
We only got down to the beach twice but it is well looked after and very clean.
Just like to say a big hello to Lesley, Steve, Jason, Sue, Mike, Rebecca, Tracy and Aaron, you all made our holiday especially the girls.
Will go back one day in the near future.

Myself and my partner had a brill time here, we booked it about 3 weeks before we left for a grand sum of £280 each which i think for an all inclusive holiday is good value! This massive hotel is great for all ages we loved the private beach and had a plenty of food and drink. The staff were great and worked very hard when you think what they earn in a week we earn in a day! There are a couple of points this is not an english hotel there are lots of french there which i didn't mind but i did hear some brits moaning about it! The food is ok but people need to realise that your not in the U.K and they cook and eat very differently.

Having read some rather grim reviews, we were absolutely regretting this holiday. Having arrived at 21.30 hrs we were soon shown to our room, our cases which were heavy were carried for us with no hesitation. The room was spotlessly clean, with a great view over the pool, no sign of any cockroaches. Late night snacks were availiable and drinks were aplenty. Most of the staff were polite and friendly. The food could have been more varied but it kept us fed for a fortnight. The a la carte restaurants and the lunch time snack bar were well worth visiting. If we needed anything extra it was soon provided following request. Throughout our the stay the room was serviced every day. The weather was absolutely gorgeous which led to lots of laying by or swimming in the pool. A previous review mentioned a rope accross the swimming pool which was true. However, this was to indicate a sudden change in pool depth to 4 metres. Yes, some of the sunbeds were rusty but once a mat was laid over followed by a towel, they served the purpose. A market came to the hotel on Fridays which meant you never needed to leave the complex. A good head for bartering is required though because you have to barter for everything. Overall, we had an excellent holiday. As with all holidays you get out of it what you put into it.

We were looking for somewhere hot where we could simply relax by the pool everyday and the Caribbean Village suited us perfectly.

I always think that a hotel review is dependent upon prior expectations and to be honest our expectations of a three star hotel in Morocco were not particularly high. Overall we were very pleased with the hotel.

The holiday started badly with a six hour flight delay, and when we finally arrived at the hotel at 2am, we found ourselves in a room near to a night club, and the loud music kept us awake for a while.

When we asked to be moved the following morning, reception were excellent and found us a quieter room straight away. From there the holiday got better and better. The room was clean and comfortable. The resort itself is located about three hundred metres from the beach, and it has it's own private section of beach. We spent most days round the pool, although we did spend a bit of time on the beach. The main 'activity pool' is a hive of activity with the animation team working tirelessly. There are three quieter pools for those, like us, who weren't that bothered about doing anything other than relaxing in the sun.

The food was better than I expected. There was generally a good selection and what was there was of a decent quality. The local beer and wine was good and of a better quality than I've previously experienced in North Africa.

The evening entertainment was generally guest based, with activities such as karaoke, Mr and Mrs Agadir etc, although on some nights they did put on a show. Although nothing special, it kept me entertained, and you can't fault the entertainment staff for the effort they put in.

The resort is very spread out. The beach stretches for what seems like miles, with a promenade running along the entire length. We walked along the promenade most evenings and always felt perfectly safe. There's always one or two sellers trying to get you to part with your money for a wooden camel or a trip to Marrakesh, but not as many as we've found in other countries. Most nights we were able to walk around for hours without being approached.

We did one trip up into the Atlas mountains. Although we spent a lot of time on a coach I'd recommend it for the stunning scenery alone.

The thing I liked most about Morocco was the general ambience which is different from your typical European resort. There are shops and stalls set within the hotel which give it an authentic Moroccan feel. From the regular aroma of spices to the camel that spent one whole day sitting near the pool, there's always something to remind you that you are in Africa.

I do think you need good weather to enjoy Agadir. I'm not really sure what we would have done had it rained all week. I think we would have been very bored as there didn't appear to be a great deal to do outside the complexes. We were very lucky to have six days of glorious sunshine.

My only one very small moan would be the bar staff. Perhaps it's just me, but I just found them generally unfriendly, not always, but a lot of the time. In other resorts we've had a laugh and a joke with the bar staff, whereas here they seemed at times to almost resent having to serve you.

If you go there with sensible expectations, bearing in mind that Morocco is a developing country in North Africa and that the Caribbean Village it's a three star complex, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised - as we were.

people have been really unfair to this hotel. my friend and i had an absolutely brilliant holiday at the caribbean village. we felt that the travel brochure didn't do it justice, it was better than we expected. I wouldn't usually opt for package holidays, but this didn't feel like you were only with english people. there were tourists from many different countries, but everyone was friendly. there was food to please everyone and plenty of it. if you consider the quality of living and food the locals have to suffer, people should put things in perspective before complaining! we were a couple of late 20s girls, so we did get a lot of attention, but never in a way that made you feel uncomfortable. The trips to Marrakesh, exploring agadir and horse riding were all great fun. the guides were really knowledgable and seemed to be enjoying telling you information. the animation team were great fun and no matter how late they had been up in the evening, were lively and friendly the next morning. all in all, it's somewhere i would go back to - which goes against the grain rather to re-visit places!
