“Let down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We booked this hotel as a sunny holiday.

We booked directly with the hotel but most people had come through a travel agent.

When we arrived we had to wait a while to be checked in as the person was talking to someone in the lobby. When we got checked in we weren't offered any information about the surround area so we had to search the Internet and then ask reception about the places we had researched. It wasn't great service.

We were shown to our room which was lovely and spacious. The sea view room which I paid for was across a road down a hill. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were so big and fully stuffed both of us struggled to sleep.

I don't think this hotel is good enough to be so far out from the main strip of restaurants etc. This is an ok hotel but you would want to venture out of the hotel, however, it is far from all the good restaurants. It is 45 minutes walk at least until you reach the nice restaurants. It isn't right on the beach front.

You can get a petit taxi and they will drive you to the main strip, just ask to go to the marina.

The breakfast was alright. Given the fact that they don't eat pork out there the substitutes in the cooked breakfast were poor and pointless. We did sometimes order food at other times of the day. Some was really nice and one was terrible. I ordered a carbonara which I couldn't eat. It tasted like someone had poured cream and mixed it with Turkey ham and spaghetti. It had no cheesy flavour and was not good.

I would say if you go to agadir stay in a bigger hotel closer to the marina. I wouldn't advise agadir at all. We got food poisoning (not from the hotel) from a resataurant close to the marina. Want a cheap holiday - go to somewhere else as this isn't worth it.

If you do go here go and buy some goodies for a good price. Got some lovely shoes.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff - every single one - were most friendly and helpful. They answered every query with a smile.
Food is excellent and very well priced.
Pool area is perhaps a little small. We were there is February and I imagine it may get a bit busier in summer months.

I would definitely return to the hotel and would be happy to recommend to other travellers to Agadir. I could not say it is the "best hotel in Agadir", as I have only stayed in one, but it surely must rate among the best.

Room Tip: The hotel is at the opposite side of town from the marina, so would be a very long walk - take a tax...

Stayed for 5 nights from the 14th Feb. This is a pleasant hotel with friendly staff, clean and comfortable but nothing especially out of the ordinary and having seen other hotels in Agadir in far better locations I can't understand how it can be rated number 1 in Agadir. Starting with the location, it is set back from the seafront by approx. 500m to reach the beachfront you must cross waste ground and a major road. The hotel itself is surrounded by a high wall and very few rooms have a distant sea view. Neighbouring properties are a currently empty large hotel, scrubby ground and another hotel being renovated. The hotel pool is large and clean there are spa facilities available and my partner enjoyed 2 good massages in there. The sauna though is chargeable apart from one free visit allowed. The breakfast buffet is ok but not exceptional we thought the evening dinner buffet average. Food in local restaurants was far better. Evening entertainment consists of a singer with a synthesiser in the bar. Our room was large and comfortable with a pool view, it was quiet at night and we slept well. Overall an ok stay but we will look for a seafront and seaview hotel next time. A short break in Agadir is fine, not a great deal to do apart from sunbathing and strolling about local shops and the Grand Souk, unless you're prepared to travel out of town.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view otherwise it's the distant sea a road and scrubby ground.

On Holiday early February. With travelling with friends it was important for the hotel to be right. When arriving at the hotel it was really nice and clean the staff were really welcoming. Hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from the beach, we hired cars which worked out good for us! Remember to haggle. Unlike some of the bigger hotels this hotel has more of a personal touch, the staff seemed much more friendlier than other hotels. ( Where friends were staying) Our friends chose another hotel at first we thought they had a better deal but when they were told what they could and could not do then it became apparent we had a lucky escape.

The breakfast was really nice and there is definitely something for everyone.

I would just like to say thanks to all the Staff at Timoulay for making our stay so comfortable. That goes to Hussain, Omar, Naima, Hanan, Khuda and Noor! and the others!!

If you are looking for a hotel which will make you feel welcome and try to accommodate for your every need then Timoulay is definitely then hotel for you!

Room Tip: Third floor has see view and pool view.

Good clean rooms, suites have separate bath and shower rooms, double bed is huge but make sure you ask for one on check in. Breakfast buffet is comprehensive and there is a small terrace outside if you wish to dine alfresco. Pool was cleaned regularly, but we never tried it so can't comment on the temperature. The staff are multi-lingual and ever helpful, always delivered with a smile, although the managers were slightly less forthcoming with bonhomie.... There was the unusual drumming noise mentioned before, which occurs about 4 times a day, irregularly, lasting about 30 minutes each time, never earlier than 10 o'clock, or later than 6 in the evening. We discovered that some building contractors at an adjacent hotel have been in dispute with the hotel management about equality in working practices and this was their way of showing their displeasure. It's never more than an irritant for Timoulay guests (indeed, sometimes their efforts are positively entertaining!) but it must be very loud in the hotel in question!
