This was our 1st Trip to Morocco , especially to Agadir and we loved our stay at the wonderful Hotel Decameron . The Hotel is the nearest by the Ocean in Agadir , you've only to walk across the promenade . In addition the "Decameron" is the only hotel in Agadir , where you can have a meal with the wonderful view at the beach and the mountain. We loved it . At the Beach you've a private section just for you . Couches and umbrellas are for free. If you don't like the ocean and want to have more action , you can lie at the pool with the poolbar. The drinks and cocktails are very good for All In . The "Lookea Team" is very kind and try to look after all guests ( Not only the french speaking ones , we are Germans and don't speak any french ) and their shows at the evenings are great. Everyone including the cleaners , waiters , the receptionists and the management in the hotel is so kind and friendly and we felt very welcome anytime ( even If you are not tipping them everyday ). The Food is delicous and looks great . Everyday there was a new theme like french , spanish , moroccon or mexican . Everything is fresh and you have a huge selection , including livecooking . After dinner you can have a shisha in the moroccon salon or in the bar.Our room was big with a terrace ( we could see the ocean , although we didn't pay for it). It had a separate bedroom on the First floor and a biiig couch, a bathroom and a separate toilet on the ground floor. We also had a kitchen and a fridge , which was perfect for us. Everything was very clean and tidied up like in the whole Hotel . All in one we spent wonderful holidays in this hotel and will come back soon . A Big Thank you to the whole " Decameron Crew" for the Nice Time .

Im unsure whether they didn't want to help us when we complained because we are British, because they couldn't understand us or whether they just didn't know what to do.
When we got there we were shown to our room. The room was clean, but looked tatty and was in need of a refurb. We had a back door which backed out onto a small grassy patch with a table and chairs, but this door was broken and didn't lock (it could be pushed open very easily). Additionally, the control for the TV didn't work (granted, we weren't too bothered about this as our plan wasn't to watch TV, but we were annoyed they would given us a broken control in the first place)

We went to reception and complained about this and after repeating ourselves multiple times (because they don't really speak English, just French and Arabic) they eventually got the point and sorted out these problems later that day.

HOWEVER, by the third day there our bathroom STANK of sewage. It was so bad we couldn't go in there and had to keep the door shut at all times. We complained and they sent a cleaning lady round who sprayed the drain. That was it. It made the smell go away for 30 minutes but then it would come back stronger than before.
We complained 8 times about this! It lasted for 3 days before they actually sent a maintenance man round who was able to sort the problem in 5 minutes, but for 3 days (we were only there for 5 in total) we couldn't use our bathroom and both my partner and I were made to feel constantly sick by the smell which emanated out the bathroom and filled our room.
Additionally, when we asked to change room after the 3rd complaint, they said no, and that they would fix the problem. They didn't until the third day.

The day before we were due to leave we asked them to book us a taxi to take us to the airport the following day. They said they would do this and we went back to reception the following morning to confirm it had been booked. The woman at the desk snarled at us and told us that if we asked them to book it, then it has been booked and she didn't need to check.
Guess what....20 minutes after our taxi was due....still no Taxi!!! No taxi had been booked and we had to get them to get another one there and then whilst we watched over them to make sure they did. The only reason we didn't miss check in is because we assumed we would have these problems after our experiences with them so far so gave ourselves extra time.

Other than these problems, I did feel they had a hard working entertainment team (run by club Lookea) who seemed to work long hours and really got involved with the guests at all times.....if you were French. As soon as they realised we were English and couldn't speak French they pretty much avoided us and left us out

The only positive I really have from this place is that the food was pretty good, but if I was ever to go back to Agadir I would avoid this place at all costs

Room Tip: Don't stay here

The hotel is far from being a 4 star, it is a 2 star and I am pushing it. We had a pre-paid week reserved there from August 11 to 18, 2012. We check-out the next day. The front office staff is not well trained, ignorant and liars as we asked for a quiet room and we were given a room overlooking the pool. We were very tired after 19 hours of flying and 4 hours of waiting in transit in the inadequate Casa blanca AIrport. They insisted that the hotel was full and there was no other room. A couple of hours later a big group checked in ...so there were other options for us but we were ill treated. The loud music noise was on until 11 pm and started early in the morning. The food is tasteless and horrible, the AC was not working and it was 47 degrees C outside, there were no amenities in the bathroom, there was a cockroach in the bedroom, the beach was very unattractive (not a blue see and very cold). Moreover it is a public beach full of garbage and no service to guests sitting by the sea in terms of Food and beverage. We could not stand the aggravation of very badly managed hotel, lack of tourism infrastructure in Agadir, lack of everything and we did not sleep we were zombified and put off by all this. Basically the clientele of this hotel are germans and french people that have no standards and want to get cooked under the sun and drink and dance even thought the local wine is undrinkable. Total disappointment to say the least. Nota bene: the hotel proudly displays the 4 star Trip Advisor rating in the reception but Trip Advisor needs to seriously review its rating as this establishment does not deserve it.

Room Tip: No use. the people at the reception will lie to you.

Very nice stay in this hotel, that benefits from a very good location & a very nice & dedicated local staff, is it in the restaurant, the kitchen, the garden or the maids.
"Lookéa" animation team, especially the one from the miniclub was welcoming.
The only (small) drawbacks are a sluggish air conditioning in the room & an intricate system to swap a dirty beach towel for a clean one.
Most of the residents happened to be French or Belgian.

We enjoyed the whole stay. The food was delicious and hard not to try each of the beautiful flavours served in buffet style. A dinner in an offer once a week in the other restaurant was not that pleasant. The waiter's attitude was not friendly at all even we gave him 20dirhams. It was most probably caused by not paying enough tips..

We tip the housemaids, the waiters and all of them were then so happy it did not cost us everytime more than 1-2 pounds. The hotel resort was a bit narrow so not much walking available. However the promenade has recompensed the long walks by the sea.

The quality of the rooms I assume depends on the price paid. Ours wasn't too great but sufficient if I consider we have paid each for one day £40 all inclusive.

The nights are a bit sleepless during the locals staying up till 2am each day. it can be seen little chidren of any ages having fun in the promenade area anytime in the night of cours accompanied by their parents, but it disturbe your sleep if you dont enjoy nightlife.

One of the big disapointments followed when we realised the quality of their 'gym' offered to their customers. The 'gym' was outside with few equipments (most probably from the last century)rusty and half of it unusable or broken. I would not expect such servise in a 4 star hotel. However there was a lot of activities in an offer provided by the hotel for kids also for adults. The other unfortunate detail is that they do not speak much English. A lady instructor of a step aerobic barely could explain me in a simple words what follows in next step. However they were very friendly but English and english speakers would not feel as good as the French ones. We did not stay in the hotel area much so we did not depend on their services much except the meels but the elderly or families might have suffered by the french instructing much more.

in conclusion it was worth the money but also the sun was a big desipointment barely 3 afternoons all the other 7 days just cloudy. i got a lot of tan for only 2 days lying on the beach but how could I look like if the sun was as strong as in Cyprus...? max temperature 30 degrees minimum 20. Not for Londoners who want to once a year experience the sun for few days.

I would not recommend to visit Agadir to my friends but the hotels Decameron maybe elsewhere in the world might be interesting.

Room Tip: I recomment Flightline to go through to find the cheapeast hotels. Do not book rooms that are above...

Spent 3 days here the hotel was clean and adequate. Food was quite nice especially on Moroccan night! Staff are friendly some more so if you were French speaking. Most of the pool side and night time activities were in French, which if you are less conversant in can exclude you somewhat.
Rachid the tour salesman spoke very good english and was on hand for any queries regarding his tours which were all good!
Good location also
