“Decameron Tafouk Agadir”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

We enjoyed the whole stay. The food was delicious and hard not to try each of the beautiful flavours served in buffet style. A dinner in an offer once a week in the other restaurant was not that pleasant. The waiter's attitude was not friendly at all even we gave him 20dirhams. It was most probably caused by not paying enough tips..

We tip the housemaids, the waiters and all of them were then so happy it did not cost us everytime more than 1-2 pounds. The hotel resort was a bit narrow so not much walking available. However the promenade has recompensed the long walks by the sea.

The quality of the rooms I assume depends on the price paid. Ours wasn't too great but sufficient if I consider we have paid each for one day £40 all inclusive.

The nights are a bit sleepless during the locals staying up till 2am each day. it can be seen little chidren of any ages having fun in the promenade area anytime in the night of cours accompanied by their parents, but it disturbe your sleep if you dont enjoy nightlife.

One of the big disapointments followed when we realised the quality of their 'gym' offered to their customers. The 'gym' was outside with few equipments (most probably from the last century)rusty and half of it unusable or broken. I would not expect such servise in a 4 star hotel. However there was a lot of activities in an offer provided by the hotel for kids also for adults. The other unfortunate detail is that they do not speak much English. A lady instructor of a step aerobic barely could explain me in a simple words what follows in next step. However they were very friendly but English and english speakers would not feel as good as the French ones. We did not stay in the hotel area much so we did not depend on their services much except the meels but the elderly or families might have suffered by the french instructing much more.

in conclusion it was worth the money but also the sun was a big desipointment barely 3 afternoons all the other 7 days just cloudy. i got a lot of tan for only 2 days lying on the beach but how could I look like if the sun was as strong as in Cyprus...? max temperature 30 degrees minimum 20. Not for Londoners who want to once a year experience the sun for few days.

I would not recommend to visit Agadir to my friends but the hotels Decameron maybe elsewhere in the world might be interesting.

Room Tip: I recomment Flightline to go through to find the cheapeast hotels. Do not book rooms that are above...

Spent 3 days here the hotel was clean and adequate. Food was quite nice especially on Moroccan night! Staff are friendly some more so if you were French speaking. Most of the pool side and night time activities were in French, which if you are less conversant in can exclude you somewhat.
Rachid the tour salesman spoke very good english and was on hand for any queries regarding his tours which were all good!
Good location also

This is my 2nd trip to Agadir and I wanted to try a different hotel. Wish I didn’t! If your English I really believe you should avoid this hotel!
The food was lovely, couldn’t complain about that. The buffet had a great choice and we ate happily there every day. The all inc drinks are heavily watered down and if you want to try and get merry you will struggle unless you see the barman opening a fresh bottle of spirit!

The rooms are lovely and really spacious with a couch and, tv and mini bar but sadly every English channel is dubbed into French! The other problem with the rooms are the noise! There is a nightclub next door to the hotel so from 11pm till 5am be prepared to not sleep! The base noise is ridiculous from the club and will disturb your sleep every night!

We felt very excluded at this hotel! All the staff and funbase are French and a couple tried to talk to us but after a few days we were just avoided as they just couldn’t be bothered. We felt really isolated and ignored which was a shame as the games and the entrertainment looked quite fun and the French had a great time and we were just ignored!

Had this been our first trip we would have assumed all hotels in Agadir were the same but we have stayed at the Beach Albatros and they looked after all nationalites equally!

On the whole a nice hotel but they also have other guests than French

From the outside the hotel looked wonderful and the main lobby was actually breathtaking. One major downfall is that no one at the hotel spoke English only French an Arabic. The room while it did overlook the ocean was extremely spartan with little to no furniture and you had to go up a long narrow stairway just to get to your bed. The bed was a queen size but it was actually two mattresses pushed together so I couldn't even hug my husband while sleeping because of the crack in the bed between us!!! The shower did not work nor did many of the lights in our room. When we went to the desk to report it they said the didn't want to know. The dining room did not reflect Morocco at all and the food was European and Western buffet style. The did have a smaller restaurant that was more intimate and relaxing. The pool was beautiful but the atmosphere was ruined by all the silly organized games the staff were playing with the guests. They would not hand out towels at the pool between 12:30 and 14:30 which was also quite odd. The hotel luckily is right on an amazing beach and has a beautiful promenade which was great as the room was certainly not a place you would want to spend time in. Luckily our trip to Morocco was saved by our stay in Casablanca and Marrakech. So while I would not recommend this hotel I would certainly recommend Morocco as a vacation destination.

Stayed for a week in May and had a good time. The hotel is right on the beach and within walking distance to the Marina.

Positives: Food was amazing! Different buffet choice every day, lots of variety. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly.

Negatives: Noisy - no matter what room you are in, there will be a lot of noise, either from the road to the front, the pool in the middle, the nightclubs to either side or the busy beach strip. The pool is quite small and unsupervised. The a la carte restaurant Cafe del Mar is awful! Fish should not bend - stick to the buffet! Air con didn't seem to be working properly in our room and they didn't let us check in until quite late.

General tips: Take Euros - they are good to use as tips and accepted in most places (even above Dirhams sometimes). Don't be surprised by the overwhelming bias towards the French - staff were friendly to us (British) but they really went out of their way for anyone French. Area is safe, but get used to being accosted, insulted and yelled at if you walk anywhere near a shop.

I don't want to tell you anything about this hotel because I want it all to myself! I had the best time here of all the places I've been in Europe and Northern Africa. The personell and the animation people were all great. The room was right over the pool so we could see what was going on: water polo by day or theme nights set up by the pool with couches made out of cushins in the evening with snacks and drinks.
The restaurant has a splendid view of the ocean and there are also tables and chairs set up outside the restaurant. The food is fantastastic with show cooking, theme nights and fancy dishes with decorations. The deserts are great. There is a snack bar for the afternoon located to the side of the hotel when you come back from the beach famished. Crepes with chocolate are the best. Across a wonderful beachwalk from the hotel is the great beach with sun beds and umbrellas for your use. There is a guard there as well as by the opening to the snack bar. They help you out in you need a matress for your sun bed or anything.
The ocean is marvelous! It slowly degrades to the deeper water and the waves are fantastic. All that ocean air is good for your health. Our room was excellently decorated with a couch besides the bed which was magnificent. It's fun to walk around the shops beside the hotel and there was one shop with gorgeous expensive clothes that made my mouth water. Be sure to barter.
The guests there are friendly and nice - I guess because everybody is satisfied. It's easy to make friends and there are a lot of young adults. The atmosphere is positive and full of happy vibes. You can't go wrong here.

The hotel is well located, with the beach just across the promenade and is the last of the big hotels before the run of restaurants starts...leading to the new Marina in the distance. My feelings about the hotel are however mixed. The lady at reception on our arrival was very disinterested and unhelpful. French (and Arabic) are the main languages but most staff have some English. The room was large, basic but clean with air conditioning. However the only lights in the room were two bed-side wall lights which were so dim we could not read at night- it was brighter near the wardrobes and in the bathroom! The free Wi-Fi would only intermittently work if you stood by the window - so we often went and sat in reception to check emails, etc. The pool was an adequate size and clean. Although it is "forbidden" to reserve sun-loungers around the pool most of them had towels/books/hats on them from early on so get out there early if you want one in the sun!! There are activities for children but the Animators also try to get the adults up and exercising/dancing around the pool - as a previous reviewer mentioned, a bit like a French Butlin's. The loud music around the pool was also unnecessary.
This was our first experience of an "all inclusive" deal - it was better then I had expected and value for money. The food was decent (reminded me a bit of motorway service station food from days gone by) but there was a wide selection and we always found something to our taste. The dinners are themed - Moroccan, Latino and Mediterranean buffets while we were there. The wine was quite decent - the majority of residents were French and they were not complaining about it!
In conclusion, the hotel served it purpose but I would probably try another if I returned. I can highly recommend Restaurant la Madrague in the Marina - delicious food and well priced too.
