We have had a lovely ten days at this hotel so starting with the positive. The hotel staff are friendly and happy to help at all times. The pool area is lovely and clean with plenty of beds and parasols and they provide clean towels every day. You should try to get a room facing the pool because rooms facing the road are noisy (over a night club) with out balcony or fridge. If you do get one of these rooms they will change rooms for you if you ask. On first impression the rooms appear clean but they are not great, the beds and towels are clean but really the rooms could do with a thorough good cleaning, our maid tended to barge In without knocking and somedays she took our towels early but then didnt come back to make up the room until late in the day leaving us without towels all day or being able to relax in the room, she also took any change left around assuming it was her daily tip. We found the breakfast to be ok but the evening meal was awful so we ate out in the evenings which led us to find a small cafe restaurant called 1001 nights where we could get a good meal for two away from the tourist area for about £8. Unfortunately you cannot get alcohol with your meal but if you are on a tight budget and cannot face hotel food or want to experience some local atmosphere this is ideal. Take a mini taxi from outside hotel for 20 dirhams and ask for sindibad hotel where you will find 1001 nights, don't be put off by shabby appearance and waiters are friendly and speak English. The hotel used to provide all inclusive and they appear to still be serving all inclusive type drinks at expensive hotel prices, the hotel bars tend to be empty so lack atmosphere. Outside hotel and to the right, up the lane you will find a small shop selling herbal teas, massage oils and offering massages, please beware, we got ripped off badly here to the tune of £100! Once you are in this shop it is very hard to get out and Rasheed will convince you that you have every ailment under the sun! If you haven't paid too much for this hotel you will get value for money, brush up on your French as it is the preferred language, ask reception for a local map and don't let taxi drivers rip you off. The min taxis can only go within a certain radius so no journey should cost more than 20 dirhams . September 2013
