just back after two weeks in the Argana Hotel with my wife and had a great holiday. The rooms are basic but spotless. Our room was on 3rd floor with a pool view with large balcony. Stayed half board and had no complaints with breakfast or dinner. Plenty choice and the staff in the dinning room were so friendly and helpful esp our waiter Hamid. The pool was perfect esp for those who enjoy doing lengths. No problems with sun beds and padded cushions provided free of charge.Towels are also provided every day for a refundable deposit. The pool and pool area were spotless. The animation team of Salah, Khalid and Maraha provided great entertainment for adults and kids with water basket ball, darts and table tennis during the day and nightly entertainment .For those not interested in taking part in such activities like my wife not to worry as no pressure is applied to take part .The bar was quiet at night and the beer was the same price as at home at 4.50 pr pint . The Jazz bar just down the road is worth a visit for food or just a drink .During our stay there was a 4 day free music festival which I understand is on every year and is worth a visit. As a resort i would say Agadir is ok nothing special .For a relaxing holiday and friendly hotel with great weather ,worth a visit.

I have stayed in several Hotels in Agadir , but I have found the Argana probably the best of all worlds. The staff are outstanding and cannot do enough for you, although this time even for mid june it was noticably quiter all over Agadir. The rooms are not going to be the most spectacular you will ever see, but they have a small fridge, they have room service 24 hours (handy as the flight does not get in until 1am) Pool athmosphere is lovely - a short walk to the main promanade (which has really improved) with beautiful walkways. The dining room staff are both caring and are all characters... the brakfast is basic but very fresh , eggs cooked to order, rolls, fruit, cerals yogurts etc - I would suggest if you've a favorite brand of tea bring you own tea bags - the staff will look after them or butter or any favorite jams for you. One thing that has improved is restaurant Paradiso which is part of Argana , this is now back to international cusine 9it was formally a disasterous Asian/ Sushi affair) main courses were priced from 7 euros to 15 -plus you get a full 20% discount if you are staying at Argana, shame there wasnt that many people in it - but it will take a while to "shake off" the old image - the only negative comment I have is that the poolside restaurant/snack bar is rather unimaginative menu wise... and is a little over priced for what you get. there is Pizza Hut and Mc Donalds accorss the Road from Argana, there is also a restaurant called Romi - full excellent 3 course french cusine lunch for 10euros - the only issue is they dont have an english menu.
People mention Laila the Sunway Representative - she is becoming more of a legend in Morocco, she really knows the place backward and is very helpful, as are the reception staff in the hotel. there is also a ATM in reception so you can withdraw your money at the same rate as the bank without even having to leave the hotel. Its grat lace but go with an open mind it can NEVER be compared to a holiday in Greece or Spain -
Dont come home without going to one of the Argan Massage Centres in Agadir (for men and women) full body deep massage is only 30 euros for 2 hours -
Visit Marrakesh (but do the 2 day tour - would not reccoment the one day tour - very tiring!)
good restaurants - Mezzo Mezzo, Jazz, La Scala,
in the moroccan part of town called "Talbouj" dinner in restaurants such as Mil et Un Nuit es about 3/4 euros - they dont serve booze !!!

I have stayed in many hotels in Agadir and the Argana is by far the most family friendly. The staff are very friendly and can not do enough for you. We have stayed there with our two children now 3 & 10 for the past 3 years many times and it's by far the best for the kids. No kids club as such but plenty of pool activities and family games etc. Young pool staff played with the children all day long but all are qualified life guards etc.
They have adjoining rooms or two bed apartments for families, B&B is included in the prices so no real kitchen facilities, but everything is so cheap you don't want to cook or anything, we just got some fresh breads etc for having with a cup of soup for the kids. Pool food great never any complaints from us in 3 years, the security in the hotel is top notch, my ten year old went off on a walk about and the hotel was shut down and he was located in two mins flat. Very impressed. I know the rooms could do with some updating but everything you need is there, this is Morocco and not santa ponza, so the rooms are big, rooms service is cheap, and fry ups are not on every corner.
If travelling from Ireland the Sunway rep for this hotel is Laila, she's great, we went on a boat trip, fishing was crap, so she got us all our money back, and she is always there to help.
The pool, reception. cleaning and bar staff just couldn't be nicer and if you want to chill with your ffamily this the hotel. Although I haven't stayed at the Club Med in Agadir as it's a bit off the beaten track but ment to be amazing but again all inclusive and I hate buffet every night -. The two bed apartments are no:2144, 3144, 4144 and are great for a family with young children who also want some adult time at night as there is a huge sitting room and two bedrooms. Everything is spotless and if you have a problem the hotel will sort is asap - I've never had to complain about anything here and I'm very fussy on hygiene etc.
Only bad point is no broadband access but there is a cyber cafe in the lobby , not sat. channels either but we always bring a laptop and dvd's for kids at night etc.
Entertainment, including kids disco every night in hotel, and at dinner they have never charged us for the children, always just two adults.
SKY BAR, Mc Donalds, Pizza Hut are all visible from the front of the hotel, and the beautiful beach is just a five min stroll from the back of the hotel.
I know the Argana is listed as 4*, and I have stayed at many of the 5* in Agadir but for atmosphere and all round friendliness and comfort I would always choose the Argana.
I would never stay anywhere else when in Agadir.
will post room photos later

This hotel is one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are extremely helpful and the hotel receives a lot of Irish guests no matter what the season may be.
More Gaeilge is spoken by the staff in this hotel than in any hotel I have ever stayed in, in Ireland. So be prepared for the cupla focail. I do not joke you.
We stayed over the Easter and the pool was spotless and warm. This is not a brand new hotel, but is very homely. The rooms are spotless and there is a very good self service breakfast with omlettes and pancakes freshly made for you.
The bar was excellent with lots of craic at night time.
