“Wish we could have stayed longer!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2011

Just back from a wonderful two weeks at this hotel – we were a large party of adults and children and all had a fantastic time.

From the start the hotel staff worked hard to assist us, from the management honouring our request for specific rooms, the bar staff remembering (and quickly serving) our drink orders, the restaurant team providing us with dedicated tables (with pre organised drinks) and of course the wonderful animation and kids club team making sure every hour of the day and night was great fun!!!

This is an excellent four star hotel and as far as we are concerned, ALL the staff are polite and helpful and work extremely hard (for long hours and little money) to ensure you enjoy your holiday!

We all wish we could have stayed longer…. which after a two week holiday is a major recommendation on its own!

This hotel provides everything you need to have a relaxing or fun filled family holiday in a safe and clean environment.

Ignore the bad reviews as some people are never satisfied. The hotel is well maintained and spacious. The pools are are clean and the hotel has plenty of activities to keep you occupied. The beach is right next to the hotel with soft sand!
The variety of food really impressed me with good fish, fresh fruits and my favourite - pastries and cakes. They also have pizzas, chips, pasta if you miss your usual diet.
Beer and wine is ok though the other drinks were a bit watered down.
The staff were friendly and helpful considering it is Rammadan ( they don't eat the whole day). It can be a bit busy in the Bar sometimes but not anymore than any Pub in London.
It's an ideal holiday for families who want to have lots of activities in the day time but want quiet evenings. It did get a bit overcast for a few days but still warm and pleasant. But we had a few scorching days too.
Lots of French, some Germans and Polish but all in all a nice mix. All the staff spoke English so no problem at all there.

I have just returned from a week stay at Iberostar Founty Beach, Agadir in Morocco, my family is two adults & three children (12, 10 & 8) Firstly the trip from the airport is only about 20mins & if you wanted to save money on transfers there is many safe taxi's for up to six people right outside the terminal... The hotel is very nice & clean and has a very pretty garden pool area... Staff were always busy keeping everything just so... We booked two sea view rooms next to each other as there are no rooms from more than four people, this was ok but became a chore moving from room to room as they are not connected... The view was great & the rooms were large & clean, 'Made up' everyday on request, There is No kettle etc. but a small fridge is there to keep your water cool. We were 'All Inclusive' because as I've travelled around Northern Africa I've concluded its better for a family to eat on complex! The food was always fresh & in general very nice, however there was a real shortage of variety, sometimes long queue's for certain main items like omelette or pizza & I found the breakfast menu limited & lacked substance for an enjoyable meal, every day was the same food slightly changed, saying all that we enjoyed every meal, one note on service is that the staff seem to speak good frence & a large proportion of the guests are frence & everything seems to cater for them i.e. the nigh time entertainment & service around the pool bar... In general all the staff were ok, as always with 'all inclusive' there is less courteous service as there is no tip!. The entertainment staff double up as towel guards when required & we found it almost impossible to get wet towels changed for fresh ones being told to come back again & again at various certain time's, only to then sit there & watch others get their towels changed imediately (I determined that this service depended on nationality!!) One of the entertainment team was rude to me when I tried to get dry towels I think his name was Said... he was a stupid silly man whom loved himself... talking of the entertainment it was as you would expect quite poor, why would they want to preform River dance!!! the one show we did enjoy was the 'Moroccan Night' these guys were not from the hotel staff & were the real deal. I found the all-inclusive drinks list to be limited & finally took to drinking Vodka & Lemon which I have never done before purely because the beer & wine were average at best. The pools were great & clean but most of all a good depth (I hate some pools that just come up to your chest, I like a pool were you can’t touch the bottom!) seating around the pool was plentyful in general. Outside the complex things soon resorted to 'Third World' although the walk along the beach is nice, one way is the Kings Palace which you can see from the beach in front of the hotel & the other way you can walk into town, (Lovely walk but nothing there when you get there so just turn around & walk back!!) the beach is great, loads of soft sand & shallow water, I loved the beach... there are some dodgy guys hanging around selling fake watches or offering massages but they very quickly learn whom is fresh meat & they never bothered us after day one. I was very disappointed with the tour operator Sahara Tours (MedHotels.Com, Hotels4U.Com) The guys (Abdul) meet & greet was poorly presented & left us missing out on any excursions (we wanted to go to Marrakesh) I did book one excursion with Abdul to a Argan Full Body Massage outside the hotel & it was quite scary & grim... very very unpleasant I advise you avoid this, I even wonder if I was taken by taxi to a unofficial site in a rundown slum area instead of the correct destination & maybe the tour guild & taxi driver's scam is to split the money... I really advise you to avoid this particular excursion!. Would I go back? To the Hotel... Yes to Agadir... No

Room Tip: Ask for Pool or Sea View... Both Very Nice (Away From The Rude Frence!!!)

Arrival/Departure – Agadir Airport – To avoid stress, when arriving, take one of the white forms (on the right as you enter) and complete one per person. You’ll need this to get through passport control – which does take ages. The same goes for when you leave. There are the same forms which have to be filled in before you go through passport control, so we’d suggest grabbing a few extra when you arrive so this can be done before you get back to the airport. – Oh and there’s no liquid limits going through departure or onto the plane.

Money – We were able to get some Moroccan Dirhams at Gatwick, but to be honest, you won’t need much, as most places take euros. Don’t take sterling. If you do change your money, KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS, as you will need this if you have money left to change back at the end of your holiday. And allow plenty of time if you plan to do this at the airport on your way back, as it takes ages. But no one checks whether you’re taking money out, so you can just sell them on ebay when you get home. And don’t keep dirhams back expecting to be able to spend them in the shops when you’ve gone through to departures on your way home, as they only take euros.

Weather – Don’t go in August if you’re expecting blazing heat and sunshine all day long, because you won’t get it. There’s a mist/fog/cloud that seems to be around during that time, and most days it takes til between 12 and 3 in the afternoon for the sun to burn through. Still warm most of the time though.

Hotel - Check in was quick and easy. Rooms were large and clean. Had a few ants in the bathroom, but they weren't there for long. Overall the hotel was very clean. Good size swimming pools, and right on the beach. Majority of staff were friendly and helpful.

Food - Couldn't fault it. There wasn't a meal time that there wasn't something that we could all have and enjoy. (The made to order omelettes are amazing!) The only bad night was the Moroccan themed night, which was a bit of a struggle, but no one starved. And none of us had ‘stomach problems’ at any point in out stay.

Entertainment staff could be a little 'full-on' during the day, trying to get you involved in the games by the pool, but they get the message eventually. The music around the pool can get a bit irritating too when they’re doing aerobics etc, so your own music and headphones are recommended.

The evening entertainment.... hmmm.... they try hard and work hard, but it just wasn't very good. One or two nights with just music or karaoke would have been much better, or at least one professional act per week. The drinks service in the evening was a little slow at times too and was quicker if you went to the bar yourself - but tipping helps! They should also consider opening up the pool bar in the evenings as there wasn't always space to sit in the bar upstairs. But overall, a lovely hotel and we would go back.

We were a group of ‘ladies’ aged 30-49 and had a great time, very relaxing. But teenagers would be bored and don’t go if you’re expecting bars and shops all along the beach, as there aren’t any.

So called family entertainment is a sketch show with two men dressed up as prostitues selling themselves and getting cheaper and cheaper to get the client, we walked out asked to complain to a manager and told he was sleeping will have to leave message in book for him to see in morning, done this asking for an explanation and nothing. Next day over tannoy announcing that, that evenings entertainment is a sketch about getting
(i quote) pissed!! need I say more. NOT FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT. The entertainment team also go round with buckets of water throwing them over ladies boobs laying on the beach sunbathing, very creepy. Hotel lovely, food the same every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, slow service. Was glad to be home and only went for 1 week. What a shame the best bit was the taxi tour we had with a berber taxi driver as he showed us different things than suggested and gave us fasinating history. They make sure the grounds etc are lovely and clean but plates and cutlery not so.

We went to Iberostar Founty Beach on a two week a.i. holiday (2 adults, 2 children). I wouldn't advise this hotel or Agadir in general to families, rather go to Tunisia.

On Agadir, the main point to keep in mind that the weather in the summer is actually not that good. On the two weeks we were there, we had fog every morning, and some days it was fully cloudy and quite chilly. The ocean has high waves and strong currents which is OK if you are travelling with older children, but not if you are travelling with small children or less confident swimmers.

Hotel management is rude. The general manager is the only one who makes decisions at the hotel if you need help with something, but he is never present. The animation team is good at this hotel and the food is OK if you like grilled fish. For an all inclusive they make you wait a very long time for your drinks/breakfast etc, hoping you'll give up, which is annoying.

If you do decide to go, then I can advise to go on the day trip to the waterfall at Immozer+ Atlas mountains. Take one organised by the local taxi drivers as opposed to the travel agents as it is half price and they show you more anyway.

We all love to meet people and make new friends, flirting with the annimation team is also part of the holiday fun for young girls - as we well know. However, if you are travelling with young women or allowing you daughter to stay here with her friends - be warned, There is a serial sexual prediditor operating at this hotel. Male staff who prey on girls for sexual pleasure. Just be careful, it seems the management of this hotel continue to turn a blind eye to this dreadful predidtory behaviour.
