“Good value, clean and friendly, your first choice if you want to stay overnight in Agadir”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2010

Stayed two nights with our son aged 12 as a first stop of our ten days tour of southern Morocco. In this rather dull town, this hotel is a pleasent surprise. Especially the pool area is a relaxing and quiet haven. for this price, the hotel Kamal is highly recommended!

Spotlessly clean, super friendly and helpfull staff. Great location 5 minutes walk to the beach and 5 minutes walk to the cafes and restaurants for locals. best value for a hotel in my 3 trips to Morocco. Ask at reception about anything: they'll give you comments on different places with lots of information. We went for a hamman recommended by them and enjoyed. Nice quite swimming pool. I'd comme back 100% sure. Our room faced the swiming pool, external rooms might be a bit more noisy.

Good adress between the busy waterfront & the older part of town. Good sized pool, although not heated (but managed a few dips in March). Breakfast included, mostly consisting of coffee/tea, ornage juice with pastries, bread & jam. Check out the internet deals for special offers!

Great location, great service, and great value.

Incredibly helpful and friendly staff in all areas. The room was clean and sufficient - we asked for one with a "pool view" and got not only a pool view, but a view of the ocean in the background...awesome. The bed was fine, and the breakfast was minimal but sufficient - breads...two rounds. First they bring you the french breads, and then they follow with the traditional Moroccan stuff. Includes orange juice and tea/coffee. Plenty for us, but if you need more, plan accordingly.

Note that the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the beach boardwalk, but is close to a cool little souk and some decent restaurants.

Agadir in general is a fairly friendly place, but lots of beggars (more than Casablanca and Marrakech combined). A great 1 day getaway is to take a 27dhm each way 1.5 hour taxi ride (they squeeze the driver and 6 passengers into the taxi, so get ready!) to Tadourannt - much more traditional Moroccan experiences there given that Agadir was demolished in 1960 and thus is lacking in a lot of that traditional flair. And keep your eyes open along the way for goats in trees (seriously)!!!

Highly recommended hotel for those who aren't hotel snobs but want a good place to stay.

We stayed for one night as passing through and after reading the reviews we thought why not try it, It was clean the staff were friendly and helpful and of course it was £50 a night including breakfast so cheap, I did giggle at the decor- time warp for sure. Breakfast was nice in the morning and location was a little walk away from the main strip and the beach but hey were not complaining!!

This centrally located hotel is hard to fault. We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Agadir. For price/location etc it is hard to fault thishotel, we were very impressed:

- It is spotlessly clean (even the pool was cleaned daily despite nobody using it)
- Pool is a good size with one lane being approx 25m
- Continental breakfast was served daily from 5am - 10am with fresh breads (pain chocolait was very nice) and orange juice (eggs toast etc available for small cost - approx 50p per item)
- Staff were all really friendly and helpful
- You can exchange money at the desk if the bank is shut (the bank is next door and will give a slightly better rate (per GBP: 12.7 in bank 12.5 in hotel)
- hotel is a 10 min walk from beach
- Location is handy for restaurants/ supermarket/banks - all on same street
- Bedroom overlooking pool was quiet despite central location
- Double beds large and comfortable
- Rate was very reasonable
- You can leave luggage in a holding room if you have a late flight on day of departure (we also got changed there before flying - very handy!)

If you are looking for somewhere to base yourself in Agadir whilst exploring the area the Hotel Kamal is perfect - we would definately say here again!!

, - facilities included ensuite with shower and bath and view of the pool.

The staff were ok, nothing amazng except the guy behind the bar who was polite and very funny. The pool is ok too and you can buy food and drink at the poolside. The hotel is probably 10 minutes walk to the beachfront. You have a couple of options to get to the beach one being down a strange alley where a gentleman asks if you would like to see 'the people of the sahara" - this being the most widely used scam in Agadir!

The food at the hotel is decent enough too though the atmosphere is depressing, when we were there quite often we were the only people eating and it was very quiet.

The rooms are of a decent size with an ensuite.
