“Definitely not four-star”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Originally an attractive, Moroccan-style hotel, it is now badly in need of renovation and definitely not four-star. Rooms with peeling paint and water stains on the walls, torn curtains and unusable safe (no longer any numbers on the buttons).
Food very average and very impolite reaction to a service complaint on the part of the head waiter. Other waiters and service personnel mostly friendly. Attractive pool, but water quality
rather suspicious. Good location directly on the beach, but away from the main tourist centre so nice and quiet for those wanting a peaceful stay.
Building itself also in need of renovation - floods in reception area and restaurant when it rained. There are definitely better places to reside in Agadir!

Room Tip: Rooms on pool side quieter, but hotel not recommended.

The hotel is definitely not 5*...it's overrated.
I have stayed there for 5 days. Arrival was pretty swift, with no issue or waiting at check in.
The breakfast buffet is very limited, only 2 choices of fruit...The service at BF was very slow, waiters/waitresses seemed not to know how to attend guest. Chaotic during serving or clearing or delivering.
Hotel is big, has a nice outdoor pool ( didn't use it thought). Gym was fairly well equipped, the indoor pool I wanted to use was for charge only, 200 something dirhams.
I have dropped my gym top accidentally from my balcony on 3rd floor onto the balcony below. It took 3 days of asking the staff at the reception to have it retrieved. They said they can't enter the room below mine, as the card door system doesn't work, but that they will try their best. After 3rd day of nothing happening, I looked out of the balcony and my top was gone, so I thought they have retrieved it. When asking at the reception for it, they said they didn't find it.
It got lost or stolen...I don't know... but they haven't offered any sort of apology or recovery for it. When I asked for someone in charge (duty manager), I was told by a receptionist, he is absent. There is no 24/7 duty manager available.
The room service for cleaning was entering the room too many times... To clean up, to take used towels out, to replace them ... Felt disturbed a lot.
The corridors have tile flooring, any time someone is dragging a suitcase along or the cleaning lady pushes her trolley around, it creates loud noise..any time of the day and night, it was very disturbing.
Location is far from any attractions, only hotels around...need to walk another 40+ minutes to get to an outside restaurant, cafe.
The hotel is not recommended to visit from my side. The building is nice, huge and the premises architectonically interesting, however the place lacks of any proper management, it kind of runs wild on it's own.
I will not visit again.

Stayed here in March.

The hotel is poorly placed. It's beside the beach but a good 35-40 mins walk from anything other than more hotels.

The reception area is large and fairly well presented, however step into the rooms and it's all a bit tired and shabby. Mould in the fridge, ants in the bathroom and the bed (found in the morning!).

No hot water despite two phone calls to reception who promised to sort it.

There seemed to be some kind of industrial dispute going on in the morning as our bags disappeared for some time and made us late departing.

The pool and gardens were nice, but they didn't make up for the rest.

Be aware the hotel is dry (no alcohol) and all near and far hotels in the area only allow residents access, enforced by guards on the entrances.

Cannot recommend

This hotel is situated on the beach, right next to Sofitel. Excelent location, 10 minutes fron the town centre. If you take the red taxis, it should cost you only 14-15 Dirhams. Always insist the taxi driver turns the meter on. At night (from 8 p.m. the taxi fares double). The hotel is good for families looking for peace. The hotel does not sell alcohol but people can bring their own booze and drink it in their own room. Because of this policy you avoid the drunk and the undesireable visitors to this hotel. Service of most departments is excellent. Swimming pool sis massive, they also have childrens play room.

Room Tip: View of the beach would be a good choice. You can sit in your own balcony if you did not feel like g...

This hotel is nice but I think it is overpriced. It is not really a 5 star hotel. The rooms are average clean. The pool was very cold. We were told when we booked that we would have access to the pool inside the hotel but then when we arrived we had to pay 220 dirham for access for the pool inside?!?!

This hotel is very close to the beach. It is just at the front but nothing is there. No shops no tourists. You have walk up the promenade for about 30 minutes to find restaurants, shops and people at all!

It's a rundown hotel. No paper to dry hands in bathroom. No napkin on tables or buffet. Way overpriced. I offered 1/2 price and they accepted and pocketed the cash. Gym's treadmill was broken. No light control in toilette stalls so you get stuck in the dark. No light in lobby - must check email in the dark. Low quality one-man-band for entertainment. Restaurant was suffocating of cigarette smoke during breakfast.

We enjoyed our very short stay. Rooms spacious and very well furnished. Front desk staff friendly. We also managed to get a discount! The spa is great. Food varied and always edible. The self service restaurant has literally everything you may ask for.

Room Tip: Rooms gorgeous
