“Good but no cigar!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

Had one week all inclusive-enjoyed having a pool view room which was cleaned well every day, a decent size with a good bathroom-the only issue with the room was we had to complain 4 times that the shower head poured out water when we we running a bath which was a nuisance.
Decent and edible food that lacked a little variety but was always quite tasty, friendly waiting staff. Nice clean pool and spotless public areas was a plus . The animation team were friendly and enthusiastic, they were hamstrung by working in an ill designed room for that purpose-however they tried hard. The drinks were better than most A/I's with the benefit of Schweppes tonic and OK bottled beer-sadly no local brandy to sample.
I had taken heed regarding the comments about the poor value offered by the spa-I resisted all the offers to partake as I am a regular visitor to Asia and would have have paid around 15% of the cost for a much better service-many who did pay up were disappointed-the only real black mark against the Albatross.
All in all decent value for money.

Room Tip: Poolside is quieter than the road side-even numbers I think??

Just back after a relaxing week at the pik albatross, the weather was nice & warm for feb got a great tan sunbathing on the new terrace,We came to this hotel 2 yrs ago & cant believe the difference now all the building works have been completed, the grounds of the hotel are spotless due to the hard work put in by the staff, must say I cant fault the food or drink, had a lot worse in other hotels.all the staff are polite especialy the manager Heshmat K who always finds time stop and say hello. We were on the 6th floor with a fantastic view of the sea & mountains the only downside is you don't get any sun on the balcony at all,you only get the sun if you ask for a pool view.a word of warning if you venture onto the promenade you will be pestered by flower sellers & kids in wheelchairs begging.just give them a firm NO THANKS.if you want to go shopping go out the front of the hotel turn left over the kamakazi crossing.the drivers hardly stop for you to cross,Just Run.go left again follow pavement round up the road and your there loads of bargains to be had.get taxi transfers from airport fixed price of 220 dms takes 30mins.

I was there for a week at end of January. Arrived about 4pm and my room had not been made up so had to wait in reception for 45 mins. First night was kept awake by very loud music when I went down to reception 1am I was told it was the night club which closed at 5am! Next morning asked for my room to be changed and was told to come back at 12 - when I went back had to wait another hour while they found another room- no apology! I was moved from the 3rd floor to the 5th floor, but could still hear it. The hotel as situated between two very busy roads so theres so much noise from traffic and car horns it isnt just the music that keeps you awake. Pool area is nice, every where else is very dated and a bit shabby. The food is ok but nearly the same every day. Except for the bell boys (who are after tips) the attitude of the staff is just that you are really not important - I went all inclusive so they already have your money so dont care, dont think they nkow the meaning of customer service. Would I go again - no way!!

Moroccan hospitality at its best, excellent food, accommodation and entertainment especially the traditional North African dancing and drumming .A really lovely hotel with many rooms overlooking the sea, a great heated outdoor pool you could swim 'proper lengths' in and good tennis court and other facilities too. Watching the sun go down from the 'Sunset bar' on terrace beautiful. Agadir is an excellent place to unwind in before travelling further into Morocco and the wonderful staff of this hotel get you off to a great start. Thank you!

Room Tip: We had rooms on the first floor and both had partial views of sea and mountains which were fine for...

We've just returned home from a great week at the Beach Albatros. We stayed in one of the bungalows (not really a bungalow, just a standard room but not part of the main hotel) and had a good view of the sea. The food was really good most of the time but there were a couple of occasions when it wasn't great. Definitely recommend eating at the Tagine restaurant which you can do once during your stay for free, the food was amazing. However the best thing about the holiday was the staff, especially Ayoub who taught us how to play chess! He really made our holiday brilliant and always took the time to come and say hello when he saw us. The entertainment team were really good too. They encouraged you to get involved but didn't pester you if you didn't want to. We went on a day trip to Essaouria which we booked through a guy down by the beach. The trip was enjoyable but don't believe them when they say it's an hour and a half each way, it was closer to 3 hours!

We went to the spa on one of the days but I'm not sure I'd go again. The jacuzzi was really cold and I think you could have got better value for money elsewhere.

I wasn't expecting that much from the hotel as the holiday was pretty cheap but was really impressed and we're even considering going back for a week of winter sun next year!

Room Tip: I'd recommend the bungalows as they're away from the main hotel.

Just got back from 7 nights at this hotel and what a lovely relaxing break it was. The hotel is well placed for access to both the beach (5 minute walk) and town. On arrival we were met by the receptionist who could really do with some customer service training, a smile really wouldnt have gone amiss, as she is really the first point of contact when you arrive. The other chap on duty with her couldn't have been more opposite and the lucky couple he checked in before us got smiles and jokes! We were allocated room 3017 but as we had requested a twin we went back to reception to ask if we could get one with a double, we were told to come back at noon the next day when the manager would be available to facilitate this request. The next day we duly reported to reception again the manager said he could swap us but not until the next day as they were all full (only 20 I think). We duly returned the next day but alas were met by the sour puss receptionist, the message from the manager has apparently not been passed on, after some time she got the message and moved us to 3023 and by the end of the conversation she had managed to crack a smile! A point to note here... the pool view rooms are all twins and get most of the sun all day whereas the sea view rooms are only getting late evening sun at this time of year. So the room decor as with the hotel is very 70's but adequately maintained. The mini disaster that beacme apparent in the room move was that we had gone from a shower that was a torrent to one that struggled to dribble. we reported to reception and they sent the maintenence man to fix it immediately, however all he did was swap the head when the actual problem was the flow of water when trying to get hot was very restricted.
The pool seems to have been reported as heated but as we didnt use it cannot comment but it was being used, and my observation of those entering seemed to be done with some tentativeness. The
The food was adequate for our needs and we ate well everyday, good selection and varied each day although my on comment here to the guest services manager, it is wise to provide cutlery near the desserts so that people don't have to hunt it down or pinch from other tables.
We ate at the Tagine restaurant one evening which was good although the desserts let the meal down in my opinion but that me being critical. As a traditional experience it was enjoyable.
Its easy to move around the hotel as its mostly on one level but worth noting that there is a long flight of steps down to the beach but its possible to avoid this by walking the long way round from the front of the hotel.
The bird park is next to the hotel, yes its a bit tired and run down but see it for what it is - a free park for the locals to maybe experience some things they wouldnt normally see. Its a pleasnt stroll from the market to the beach front.

We have just arrived home in freezing, dreary london, after 7 days of relaxation and fun!
We were not sure what to expect when we booked this getaway and were fully prepared for it too not quite fulfil the expectations which the website had set up. How wrong could we have been!

This hotel is fantastic, from the beautiful settings, enormous pool and sea views, to the diligent and helpful staff who go out of their way to help and make your stay brilliant!

I feel I can't do this hotel justice without going into detail, after all it was their attention to detail that made it so special! They even brought a birthday cake out for my partner on his birthday, which had is name written on it. We has not told them or made it obvious in any way and they had clearly seen it in his passport on arrival and set it up. I thought this was so sweet of them.

The cleaners were lovely and would lay out our bedding differently each day. Somedays scattering it with rose petals and others making little designs out of our night clothes. It was spotless every day.

The food was delicious and every meal had enormous choice and different themes and dishes for every meal. We particularly loved the barbecue, pizza station, salad station, carvery, made to order omelette&egg and pasta station and afternoon crepes. We burnt off a few of these additional calories in the fitness room and on the tennis courts (you can borrow racquets). Luckily much of the food was healthy and as a pesctarian, I had a huge variety at all times. The restaurant manager is always visible and runs it like clockwork. You know it's always fresh because he is constantly having things removed and and then replenished.

Alcohol and soft drinks were always available and were fine for us. You can only get the local stuff, but for us that was fine. I think the rose is the nicest of the wines!

The Tagine restaurant was lovely and the staff in there were so kind and good humoured that you could not fail to have a ball. Talking of the staff, the Entertainment team were incredible. Actually, entertainers are not the right word, because they were so much more than that! They are the life and soul of the place and all five seem to take a real interest in the guests. They got to know us personally and we thought of them as friends. They really looked out for us, advised us, joked with us and put on some hilarious, totally nutty shows. Somehow, although that sort of thing is not our normal style, we loved it! Ayub is a great DJ and plays music to suit everyone!

I realise this is ridiculously positive but sometimes in life you go somewhere and it's blooming great and the people who make it like that deserve some gratitude.

Thank you for an amazing time, we will be back!
