“"Another brilliant Rui Hotel"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

Recently arrived back from a 10 day holiday (July 2nd-12th) at this new Rui hotel and was totally impressed. On arrival the hotel seems to stand in a class of it's own with a beautiful exterior and an even more impressive interior. Arrived about 11.50pm and was handed a refreshing drink, quickly checked in at reception and then offered a cold buffet in the dining room. This was a nice touch as Thompson airlines seem to be going down the road of budget flights and charging outrageous prices for snacks and drinks on their aircraft.

Rooms first class only down side is the lack of draws but so what you have plenty of wardrobe space. Stocked fridge in the room with beer, water and fizzy drinks, also tea and coffee. I would say one thing there is occasional noise in the corridors late at night.

The pool area is lovely with plush sunbeds. There is the usual problem with the beds around the pool, (on my last day for example people putting towels out on beds at 6.30am, come on is this your holiday or not!!!). I was only up at this time as I was being collect for the airport at 7.45am. I think the management seemed to be aware of the problem, towards the end of my stay towels were being removed from beds when people hadn't returned to them on some occasions 3hrs later. The pools were lovely but the water was so cold, but saying that there is a heated indoor pool.

The resturant was lovely and the staff very attentive. There is a great selection of food to suit all tastes and I didn't tire of the choice. Also two bookable resturants, fusion and moroccan. These are both worth visiting and what makes them special are you choose from a menu not a buffet, so you feel as if your away from the normal hotel dining room.

Another positive with this hotel at the bars the drinks are named labels if you ask at no extra cost, Gordons, Smirnoff etc..

I would also like to mention the management, they were very visible around the hotel and always available to answer any questions.

This holiday was a family trip with two teenagers, did feel there was a lack of facilities and activities for this age group. Don't let this put you off, there are other things to do outside the hotel and there's also the free WiFi (at the reception area only) which kid's don't seem to be able to live without these days.

While on my stay decided to visit Marrakech, what a truly amazing place, did the trip off my own back but I know Thompsons run a trip. Also enjoyed the camel trek, never fails to raise a smile. A must, visit the souks in Agadir, you can pop into a taxi for around 20 dirham one way (£2). Don't forget to barter the prices down and if you're not happy with it walk away they'll soon come after you as they hate to lose the sale.

This was a truly great holiday.

Room Tip: One thing I would say if you can afford the extra choose pay for a pool view the other rooms over lo...

We stayed at this hotel from 5th july till 19th july, and the hotel and grounds are lovely . There is a kettle and tea/coffee and bottles of water in your room and are replenished everyday. Also a fridge which is stocked up with fanta cola and beers and water daily. There is also shampoo etc, and a his and hers sinks , large bath and brilliant rain shower . Hair dryer and towels . Free safe in room. Flat srceen tv, and free room service if you need a snack 24hr. All meals good verity , with chefs on hand cooking fresh food, even champagne free with your breakfast . Ther are plenty of sunbeds and brollies , and always loads of beds on beach no mater what time of day . Pool/beach towels are provided . Shops outside of hotel , and an easy walk into town along promanade, along the way is a macdonalds , not that you will need it ! There are a few fixed priced shops the best and biggest is the uniprix shop which is near a free animal mini sanctuary . Not much bother from come in my shop people , a polite No , is all thats needed . Only negative thing is , some days the sun took a while to come out and was a bit misty in the mornings but this did not stop me getting a good tan . Entertainment at night there where live groups on and other acts . We only went on the merrakech trip which is a very long day , 6-30am start and took 3 and half hours to get there , alot of walking in blazing heat and vist a palace of the king and the famous square were everyone is at you to buy , meals are included but not drinks and you get back to hotel around 11-30 pm at night . All in all a good holiday in a good hotel and will be back at some point in the future .

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view room if you can .

Very nice hotel, good food and friendly staff. Any complaints and the management will try to sort it out. There was a little building work still going on in May which was a little annoying and a few minor teething problems but this is in a great location opposite the beach. The rooms are all clean and very spacious, just like the pictures on their site. Not into Morocco and so probably won't return but not because of the hotel a sthat is eally nice.

Room Tip: Give the tip to the room maid yourself as the money left for her went before the room was made up!

We used this hotel from the 21st June to 5th July 2012. We should have gone in March but was not complete. We had a wonderful time and found all the staff very friendly. There were one or two problems but put it down to teething issues. The Wifi did not work from the rooms and had to use the reception area. For some days even had problems getting on to the internet. Other than that we can say we found the food in all the restaurants to a very high standard. The Krystal Fusion restaurant was excellent as was the Moroccan. The entertainment team was very good and provided plenty of day time activities and put on varied shows in the evening which were to a good standard. The rooms were kept very clean as was the whole hotel. They always seemed to be cleaning some area.
We will be returning to this hotel within the next 6 months or so as the location was first rate. We had a promenade which we walked both ways as far as you could. also the beach on the weekends was interesting as all the locals used it. Never seen as many football matches on one beach.
We find this area very friendly even the locals are will talk to you if you acknowledge them.

Looking forward to a return to this hotel and area. We also will be using The Tikida Dunas during the next year as well as this was another good hotel which we used in December 2011.

Beautiful hotel just opened in March 2012 , the only bad thing i would say is that we went when it was the Moroccan holidays the hotel was full and a bit pushed at meal times, also the sun beds were a bit tight, would recommend that you go when its ramadam or not the School holidays. On the good side this hotel is fantastic the food is first class plenty of choice , Rooms are one of the nicest we have ever been in , the staff are great will do any thing to help you. Please note the rooms have tea & coffee + a kettle which we were not told of , also free mini bar. the entertainment was not bad but seemed to cater for the moroccans as there were a lot of them, but once they had gone it got better. The under manager was very helpful always walking about speaking to people thanks Raffel . I would also like to thank the head chef who was always on hand to help my wife with her food as she is Coeliac he also made her some nice sweets. Overall a great holiday as i have said this is a bran new hotel once the final touches have been made it will be Fantastic . one last thing the beds are twin 3/4 superb .

Room Tip: We had a fantastic room level 4 overlooking the pool.

My friend and I went for a weeks holiday just to chill out. When booking we were amazed we could get such a nice looking hotel for such a reasonable price... We got there and on first impressions thought the same. However, after about day 2 we realised why, the food was not 5 star standard I would say a 3 at best across all of the restaurants. Whilst there we had NO aircon in our room and when we rang to complain we were told "it didn't work at night" and to get on with it. Along with this there were power cuts 3 nights we were there and we're just told to sit tight in our room... In the dark.
You had to be up at 8am to get a sunbed at all as they didn't have enough or enough umbrellas we didn't get one at all. They offer no pool service - normally something that wouldn't matter but at a 5 star id expect it. The waiters could barely speak English I'd often order something and get bought something completely different... They are also not very attentive in any of the restaurants you have to wait at least 10 minutes for service.... This coupled with te other extreme of staff constantly asking if they could take us out to some club or another!!
And finally, the last straw was on the last day when they offer you a courtesy room to change before your flight... We came in from the pool ready with our cases, we had to register at reception and wait an hour and a half to get a room... Barely being ready to get to the airport, when we and our tour operator made reception aware of this they said we get one when we get one, and when complaining they laughed.
Honestly probably one of the worst resorts I have ever stayed in, it is at best a nicely decorated 4star but given the service an food I'd say 3. The good bits about our holiday could have happened anywhere the resort just became a nuisance.

I am in the hotel lobby now using the wifi that is available virtually throughout the hotel, in the rooms and even on the beach.
We like this hotel and cannot find much wrong with it. We arrived on 12th July staying for one week. The sunbeds by the pool - there are plenty available at 9:30am. Ok the wooden sun loungers with mattresses have usually all been taken by then but there are plenty of plastic ones available - the ones I would normally expect to see at the side of a hotel pool. So we have had no problems with getting sun loungers each day. We haven't had to get up early especially to get one. The sun umbrellas seems to be plenty enough. I think they have bought more and we've not see any problems with people wanting a brolly.
The lunchtime food is served in a buffet style restaurant by the pool. We have always found an empty table set ready. Sometimes there has been a queue of say 5 people to get food from the serveries but it moves fairly quickly. Getting drinks has been no problem either. Every day I see the hotel catering manager stood by the serveries so he sees what is going on first hand. He is also there to greet you at evening meal times. Again we have had no problems getting a table at evening meal times. Dinner is 6:30 til 10 and we've been going in around 8pm. Some days at 9:30pm there has been a queue to get in the dining room, but that is almost at closing time so why people leave it so late I don't know.
We booked a standard room and found that the room is the biggest we have come across (that is not a suite). As well as the beds there is a lounge area, a dressing area, double sinks in the bathroom and the toilet and bidet have a separate door from within the bathroom. We have found plenty of hanging space and hangers. There were only 3 drawers though but enough shelf space to use instead of drawers. Minibar in the room were stocked every day.
Plenty of kids in the hotel but we found all were very well behaved. I enjoyed the various Riufit classes from step to stretching to Abs and dance. All taking place in a separate Riufit room. There was a hotel gym that was very well stocked and the best hotel gym I have seen.
Food is very good, lots of choice provide you don't eat everything from every servery every day. (but who could.) It's there for you to choose and plenty of variety if you eat reasonable quantities and are selective.
Drinks fully available, lots of branded stuff not their own local brew. Staff very pleasant and polite. Clearing away plates glasses as I would expect. Hotel is very clean. There are lots of new planting of palm trees and bushes and some of the palm trees are still wrapped up whilst they take. So should look even better once they are in full leaf. Hotel pool layout is at a good angle so that does not get the shade. So wherever you sit you can get the sun. The beach did have a lot of Moroccan visitors but the hotel has an area cordoned off with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas for guests to use. We always found spare sunbeds on the beach.
Overall a very good clean hotel with good service and friendly respectable staff. Don't understand why it has been given unfavourable write ups by others.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view. It looks inwards and seems quieter.
