If you want to be away from the tourist central but near lots of great things to do in town, you want to be at Paradis Plage (Paradise Beach). The resort is about 20 miles north of Agadir. The resort is only open since 2012 and it is fabulous in every way. The Director of the hotel “Med” is very attentive and available, but his staff is so attentive and helpful you don’t have to worry about if he is available or not. Everyone in the whole resort is really working for you whenever you need something.
Set on a beach 20 miles north of Agadir, you have a beach to yourself during the week. It has more activity on the weekends as you will find more locals coming by. There are also Camel and Horse wranglers on the beach if you want a little local flavor right at your back door.
Our room was immaculate, with excellent plumbing and electricity. And most of all, the wireless access was not only dependable but EVERYWHERE. They must have a wireless router in every area of the resort. The snack bar, the room, the pool, the lobby. I got on all them the first day and they just connected automatically as I moved around the resort. As much as I don’t like to surf the internet when I could be surfing the ocean, when you want it, you want it, and it was flawless.
The food at the hotel was excellent every day. There is an amazing bounty of salads with every meal offering local fare as well as hot items both western and local. At lunch there was a grill going that changed a little every day from chicken breast, fish fillets, ground beef or lamb patties, etc. There was always multiple choices available so if you eat fish only, or meat only, there is always something for you. My wife has an issue with dairy and I was surprised how easy they made it to accommodate her diet. She rarely can enjoy every meal on vacation but she did here. Fortunately I eat everything and tried everything. Nothing was less than outstanding.
Wine with the all inclusive package was excellent, both white and red, and flowed whenever asked for as well as beer. Alcohol seems to be out of the all inclusive but you can charge mixed drinks to your room or anything after hours.
The staff organized a trip to Essaouira for us as well as taxis to Agadir and another night at a traditional Moroccan restaurant (Big night of meat, meat and meat). Everything they organized went off without a hitch. And these were pre-negotiated trips to an from which helped as haggling in the Souk (Open Markets) is fun, but haggling to get home is frustrating. The organizer Driss was of immense help navigating everything we needed to figure out.
The pool area is very relaxing, the game area offering Les Boules, canoe, and stand surfing as well as regular surfing has a great staff. Matik spoke perfect English (Although I prefer to suffer in French it was a nice break having him as a helper). Staff speaking French, Arabic, German and English are available so it is very accommodating to multiple nationalities.
My wife got three massages this week. She was a professional massage therapist and said the staff there was very good. By American standards, the price is excellent for the value. There are also Yoga classes every day in a nice setting open to the beach and the sound of waves.
The beach is several miles long and you are pretty much in the middle, so you can easily go for an enjoyable walk either way. It is a minute walk down the stairs and you are on the beach. The view from our room was fantastic.
We were here for a wedding which was a spectacular affair because of the resort. The staff, the food, the attentiveness and the fact that it went off without a hitch was pretty impressive. I think any of the people at the weeding would write the same review. I never saw so many different people (many who did not know each other or speak the same language) come together and have such a good time for a whole week.
5 stars all the way. We’ll be back.
