“Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst my other half was ill. Although there is nothing special about this place, it was exceptionally comfortable and clean and the staff were very nice.

Upon arrival we were given mint tea and biscuits, and then shown to our room on the 9th floor. We had a great view of the city, and our room was equipped with a small kitchen and various cooking utensils. We had comfortable beds, a table with chairs, a sofa, AC, TV and a balcony. Some aspects looked a little outdated, particularly the bathroom, and it was quite white-washed, although this did not make it any less comfortable. I wouldn't say that the kitchen was great for making a big meal but is sufficient to have breakfast and maybe lunch.

The area is nothing to brag about but there is a good bakery just next door and a small convenience shop around the corner. If you need to get groceries, I would suggest taking a petit taxi to Marjane super market which cost us 20DH. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away where there are a number of restaurants. A taxi to the Gare Routiere was easy to hail right outside the hotel and cost us 25DH, if you are getting the bus back to Marrakech/Essaouira.

Agadir is a dump, but this place was good (Especially for the price!)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor

We went here, after my boyfriend got sick from eating bad hamburger at the beach club hotel. And this place was just plain heaven to get to. It had nice views, good beds, it was clean and it was right in the middle of the city center. On top of that, it was cheap. People speak english, there is wifi EVERYWHERE and people are just way more likeable and less arrogant then at the beach club hotel, where they think they can just be pretentious without good reason.
We loved it here, even though my boyfriend stayed sick, that was an ok place to be sick in, given the fact we were in a foreign country, and that is saying something.

Room Tip: They are probably all the same, all good.

Ive just ended my 2 night stay at Studiotel afoud,It is a nice hotel in the heart of Agadir City,Upon arriva we were greeted with biscuits and moroccan tea which i think was a very nice touch, checkin was fast and smooth,it is quite far from the beach but taxis are very cheap and do the job,I did not have breakfast so I cannot comment, the pool is very small though and not very attractive,The staff were very kind an very helpful.
Thanks Afoud!

Room Tip: Front facing room for a nicer view of the balcony,we were in 706.

This was a comfortable room with a large living space, a small balcony, kitchen area (slightly cramped, but did fine for us). The sleeping area was small and was separated only by a pierced wall, again, fine for us as it was just my husband, myself and our 2 year old daughter. They provided a cot for our daughter. The pool is small, cold and only gets the sun for part of the day, but is nice to have. The location is good, near to some small supermarkets and restaurants. It's not near the beach, but you can walk to the main part of town easily. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful and put us in touch with a guide.

Not a bad stay at all. The cleaning staff do an amazing job, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are studios. You can self cater to your hearts content if your on a very tight budget. There are some quite good eating spots nearby and a pastry/sweet shop almost next door to die for.
The reception staff were helpful, breakfast although not included in the tariff I paid was really cheap, of good quality and quite delicious. Wifi was good, on a personal level it is quite difficult to fault this place. The furniture in the rooms was a bit dated but was more than adequate.
The beach is a good 20 minute walk away, those who say 15 minutes must jog down....I was going to give this place 4 stars but I am scratching my head to find anything I really disliked about it so have given it 5 stars in terms of value for money.
(Disregard the ratings for spa and fitness centre as they don't have one and I cannot uncheck the boxes.....)

You don't see this a lot: the rooms were better than pretended on the website. We thought it would be small rooms with outdated interior, but we got the opposite. We only stayed one night on transit to Essaouria. Because our night was on a Sunday, we shopped the day before and catered ourselves. Completely unnecessary, all restaurants were open. Also, cheap breakfast can be taken along the streets.

We however got some bread from the bakery around the corner and had breakfast in the room, which tasted great (for once in Morocco not the typical Moroccan white bread, but some nice brown bread (whole wheat bread)).

We booked through email found on the website and payed €38 for that one night.

We really enjoyed staying here at the Studiotel Afoud. The rooms are mini apartments. Very spacious, clean and accommodating. There are cafes, redtaurants and stores nearby in walking distance. the staff is very courteous and welcoming and speak good English. We will definitely return.
