We visited the Atlas Mountains by taxi from Marrakesh. A guided tour is about 350 local per person, and a taxi driver can be negotiated to take a group of up to 4 for around 400 local. The trip is through desert and rather dull until the mountains. The valley and the waterfall is worth a visit, but be careful not to get ripped off by self-proclaimed guides that will try to charge you lots of money for their service. Do agree on a price prior to the tour.
The walk to the waterfall is only for fit persons, and even then slightly dangerous. Food and drink at the topside restaurants are extremely expensive.
