“Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2011

I payed 300 euros a night for a single without breakfast. My room needed renovation and the tv picture was miserable. After a night I moved the Djazair (Saint-George) which i consider a more comfortable hotel.

well the service is horrible , starting with the reception, and all the departments, its like you are doing them a favor by staying there, dirty rooms, i am sorry but this is a shame to hilton, and the price is HIGH SKY, you can pay the 3rd of the price and stay in a better local or Ibis hotel, new and good service.

I spent a few months in this hotel and overall it is great. Beautiful lobby, great swimming pool, rooms are nice and clean. Just a pitty it's so far away from Algiers (especially in th emorning's traffic jams). Restaurants are OK but should reniew their menus once in a while. Room service very poor (keep forgetting things).

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2011

I stayed 4 nights at the Hilton Algiers in February 2011. It was my second stay there and it was, again, a good choice. I arrived very early in the morning, at around 2 AM. The receptionist was very friendly and checked me in very efficiently and fast. All the staff I met and spoke to during my stay were friendly and serviceable.
My room was on the 7th floor on the backside of the hotel, with view to the seafront and the swimming pool. It was well sized, well equipped, tastly decorated and very clean. I had a king-size bed, with a very comfortable mattress and good bedclothes. A water boiler with Nescafé coffee sachets and tea is available for free. The drinks from the mini bar, 6 soft drinks from local and international brands, are free, too. Only refills and alcoholic drinks had to be paid for. Natural water is also provided for free and refilled daily. A high-speed internet connection is available for free. It's by cable, but it's fast. The airconditioning system was nearly noiseless.
The bathroom, too, was well-sized and clean, no complaints.
The hotel is situated right at the seafront, but unfortunately, there is nothing to do within walking distance. The city centre is around 10 kilometres away. The airport is near, just 10-15 minutes by car. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the airport. The "Safex Foire d'Alger" Exposition Center is around the hook, just a 5 minutes walk away.
Overall, the Hilton is a very good choice. I have been at the Mercure before, which I wouldn't recommend. The Sheraton is a very good choice, too, I would say that it's rather a resort hotel than just a business hotel. But it's on the West side from Algiers, an estimated 40 kilometres away from the airport. To get there, you have to cross Algiers East to West, which can be exhausting during peak times. Traffic is a real problem in Algiers!
Due to the low competition of international standard hotels in Algiers, prices are extremely expensive. For business travellers, there is not so much choice and hotel rates always pass the 200 € mark. This time I only paid 152 € per night, a special advance payment rate, excluding breakfast. Last time I paid significatly more, but it was exhibition time.

Located at seaside so little bit unconvenience for going to downtown but hotel itself has 4 restaurant and other serices therefore you give passing grade to stay if you don't mind spend much money. some ants was coming to around the refrigerator so there are some holes in the room. Meeting place located on the 1st floor, where we didn't bother the noise coming from entrance floor.Security level is strict.

Hotel has everything that you might expect from a Hilton: large, clean and comfortable rooms, superb reception desk, great restaurant and outdoor swimming pool. Overall an excellent choice. Unfortunately, there is nothing to do close to the hotel and the city center is situated rather far away, especially during the morning's traffic jams.
