“Convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

We stayed at the campground for 2 nights and enjoyed it! It was very convenient to be so close to Adventureland Theme Park! The campground is very clean and quite, even with a lot of children, including mine, running around. It was worth having our own belongings and being able to enjoy the summer nights not suck in a hotel room!

This is our favorite place to camp when we're in the area! The location is ideal for the Park and also the casino/horse track! We appreciate the security that is provided. The pads are level and we had plenty of shade. I can't imagine staying anywhere else!

The employees are rude. Avoid. Campgroun is overcroweded and there is not much shade. We told them we had a 30ft camper but they put us in one where we couldn't even park our car in front and their "top flight" security made us park our truck near the pool. There was dog poop every where on the grass. Not well maintained and old. Would not recommend.

Very nice campground that can handle big rigs as well as smaller campers. All sites are paved, majority of sites have very nice size shade trees, and well manicured lawns. Security is contastly roaming the campground and are there to answer questions plus be on the lookout for any trouble that may arise. We camped with our kids and grandkids with the intention of camping as well as going to the amusment park next door. A trolley runs thru the campground to pickup guest to take them to the amusment park or you can take a short hike like we did and walked over to it. Very nice and clean swimming pool was a delight on the super hot days we endured.Shower/bathrooms were very clean and look to be freshly painted. All-in-all a nice campground with the convinence of the amusment park next door on one side and a casino on the other side plus many restuarants within walking distance also.

We stayed at this campground (which is adjacent to the Adventureland Hotel) exactly one week after staying at the hotel. We camped with my parents and my children while visiting the amusement park. A different review from me describes the hotel from our earlier visit with friends.
The campground is large, has mostly nice, level spots and several washroom buildings with showers. There are numerous small trees, but none provide anything other than basic/minimal shade. The roads are paved. Some spots can easily accomodate larger motorhomes while others are well suited for trailers and smaller campers. Electric, water, and sewer hookups seem plentiful.
The rates are rather steep for the facilities provided, running over $30/nite for full hookups and they have the nerve to ask for an additional $4.95 per day for wireless internet service which I declined. The campground has a dominate feel of a place in need of attention. The picnic tables are worn, the buildings in need of paint and freshening, the landscape seems poorly tended to. All hookups did work without incident, however.
There is a nice sized outdoor pool and rec hall for all to enjoy. Staff are mostly pleasant, but customer service levels were well below what we were accustomed to (see hotel and amusement park review, too) and many staff openly discussed frustration with management.
There is a very convenient free shuttle service to and from the amusement park, however, that is very nice to have. The shuttle is shared with the hotel, though.
If you are going to Adventureland amusement park and are camping, do consider this property for the convenience of the shuttle service and hopefully you will come away happy. Nothing went wrong during our visit here, but after staying here several times in the past I noticed a marked deterioration in property and staff customer service while also paying a premium to stay here.
