“Wow. Typical off highway location, unusually nice hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2012

Okay, I came off the highway grumbling. Not looking like where I wished i was staying. But the hotel has an old style porch, wonderful inside with character (former bed and breakfast in its day I guess) with old styled wood interior, nice layout. Rooms large and clear. Good wifi. Great staff. Decent breakfast (better than most). And no silly extra charge for a safe that one has to wrestle with the morning attendant to remove like other scammer hotels lately in the Choice Hotel ranks. This one I will be back to, and it does not blend in for all the right reasons!

Was here 2 nights on business, wish I could have stayed!! It is a beautiful place, gorgeous lobby, wonderful rich woods everywhere, screened wrap around porch on the front with wood rockers, pictures on the walls of old Auburns and Cords and Dusenburgs.......the lobby has nice sitting areas, great fireplace. Milk and cookies every evening at front desk, coffee all day and night.....cozy breakfast area.

Rooms are very nice, unbelievable beds!! Entire hotel was clean, staff actually seem proud to work there! Various restaurants nearby, Bob Evans right next door.

Room Tip: Try to get room 217, right at the top of the stairs, less than a minute down to lobby.

I thought it looked pretty cool. I knew that meant they take their work seriously. I was able to get a hot tub room in which they are separated from the main tub which is nice. It makes you less scared to to use it haha.

Free cookies baked at 8PM till 10PM(?)... this place really knows how to bribe me but hey I don't mind.

Breakfast is pretty good and not skimpy either. Biscuits and gravy is additional to whatever else they have.

Internet is also good 150kb/s.

1 downfall: tube TVs. Comeon this is 2011 get with the program.

I'm impressed. This inn does everything right. The location is convenient, the staff is courteous, the building is immaculately maintained, and it's decorated in a country style that refrains from over-the-top cute. The abundant framed photos and automotive memorabilia in the hallways and public rooms almost make the inn feel like an extension of the nearby Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. There's even a hot breakfast that goes beyond the usual waffle makers to feature sausage and biscuits and gravy. The coffee is nothing to write home about, but that's the only thing close to a deficiency. The next time I need to spend a night in northeast Indiana, this is the place.

I stayed here about a year ago and enjoyed this second stay as well. The Hotel is cozy, clean and comfortable. There were cookies and milk in the evening and a breakfast including waffles, sausage and biscuits and gravy. Great location and great price.

Much better than the usual "next to the interstate exit" chain hotel. While the exterior looks similar to numerous other mid-priced chain hotels- the interior is a delightful surprise. The main entrance is flanked by screen porches, and opens to a wood paneled interior. The rooms are very clean, beds comfortable, and the complementary breakfast is set in a very nice room with plenty of space. The staff was also pleasant and conversant. Numerous restaurants are within walking distance. I have stayed in many of the hotels at this exit on I 69, and it is the best value for your money.

The hotel had brand new mattresses and they were awesome! The lobby was like an old lodge or mansion. The lobby was covered in wood trim and had a huge fireplace. Also, a large wooden staircase in the main lobby. They have two screened in porches that really made it feel like home. Staff was very pleasant and the rate way too low! It was the old Auburn Inn and Best Western.

Room Tip: Stay away from the highway side. The exit ramp runs adjacent to the back of the hotel.
