“Always Fresh Mediterranean Fare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

The Nile never disappoints – we enjoyed an early supper in this locally-known, smoke-free haven for fresh, well-prepared Mediterranean meals. The menu doesn’t change much and includes very tasty appetizers-hummus or feta plates with fresh tomatoes, olives and cucumbers and pita and flat breads that are warm and delightful. We tried a Chilean Pinot Noir- from Castillo De Molina. It was perfect with Spinakopita, falafel, Tiropita, Greek salads with crisp hand-torn Romaine- no bag salads here! My Mom, enjoyed beef kabobs with savory herbs- green pepper and onion chunks. Her beef was cooked to request and we all enjoyed the traditional sides of rice and green beans simmered with tomatoes and Greek herbs. To finish, with our coffees, we shared two powder-sugar coated Ma’amoul- (Lebanese filled cookies) one filled with walnuts and one with dates. Oh, they were fine! It was, as usual, very friendly efficient service surrounded by Egyptian art and on Friday evenings, they also have very talented belly dancers! Don’t miss the Nile in Anderson, Indiana if you are looking for some tasty Lebanese, Greek or Egyptian food!

“Unique and Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

The Nile is unlike anything else in the area. The food is very good. The menu isn't very accommodating for those picky eaters though. We love going here. It is a very small dining area but there usually isn't a wait at all.

“Good, solid food w/ interesting atmosphere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

We finally stopped to eat here after passing by for years, but we shouldn't have waited so long. The food is Mediterranean, and it tastes great, especially the Greek-inspired salad. All our food was enjoyable, and the portions were certainly not skimpy.

The staff are prompt and courteous, and the friendly owner is on hand to greet folks and make sure they are satisfied.

The place doesn't look like so much from the street, but looks are deceiving.

“Unexpectedly good middle-eastern for this area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2010

My ratings are low because of the smoky atmosphere. We have eaten at a number of Greek and Turkish restaurants and find the food here to be better than the average. The hummous is outstanding, the falafel is delicious. I can't get myself to try anything else when I go!

The service is very spotty, we've gotten decent service and we've gotten bad service.

On the negative side, the owner smokes a lot, right in the heart of the restaurant, and the air exchange is very poor. Also, people often order the flaming cheese and that adds to the smoky atmosphere, as does the burning incense. Don't go if you have asthma! If you can get past this though, the food is wonderful.
