The Nile never disappoints – we enjoyed an early supper in this locally-known, smoke-free haven for fresh, well-prepared Mediterranean meals. The menu doesn’t change much and includes very tasty appetizers-hummus or feta plates with fresh tomatoes, olives and cucumbers and pita and flat breads that are warm and delightful. We tried a Chilean Pinot Noir- from Castillo De Molina. It was perfect with Spinakopita, falafel, Tiropita, Greek salads with crisp hand-torn Romaine- no bag salads here! My Mom, enjoyed beef kabobs with savory herbs- green pepper and onion chunks. Her beef was cooked to request and we all enjoyed the traditional sides of rice and green beans simmered with tomatoes and Greek herbs. To finish, with our coffees, we shared two powder-sugar coated Ma’amoul- (Lebanese filled cookies) one filled with walnuts and one with dates. Oh, they were fine! It was, as usual, very friendly efficient service surrounded by Egyptian art and on Friday evenings, they also have very talented belly dancers! Don’t miss the Nile in Anderson, Indiana if you are looking for some tasty Lebanese, Greek or Egyptian food!
