“Epic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

The food is okay. There is not a very large selection. The dessert was good. Not enough selections. The employees that are serving some of the food are not so nice.

“Over priced and main dish not served”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We paid $21.00 for a prime rib and ham buffet only there was no prime rib available (they slapped a sausage in the prime rib spot) and there was no one available to slice the ham. After waiting about 5 minutes for someone to assit me I finally reached under the plexiglass, grabbled the knife and sliced my own ham. The taste wasn't worth the effort. We were there for about 1.5 hours on the Sunday before Christmas around 6:30 in the evening. There were other patrons but it was not busy. We were with out of town relatives who were staying at the hotel. I was quite embarrased as I was the one who suggested the restrauant. Way too much money for the food available. Our waitress was quite nice and the only good quality about the restaurant.

“Stay Away From This Place. Other Area Casinos Offer Way Better Value”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012 via mobile

Embarrassingly, I have been a patron of this Casino for 6 years. I play mostly slots. Expect low jackpots if your lucky to win something. Mostly you will likely lose. The max bets on the slots here are high and money drains quickly. Expect to spend several hundred dollars to win a low dollar jackpot. If your very lucky you may come out ahead. However, coming out ahead is very difficult here. Even breaking even on your money is hard. It wasnt always as bad as it is now. Hollywood used to have pretty decent slots. The jackpots were higher a few years ago. I strongly recommend going to Rivers Casino or Harrass Casino Joliet or even the Grand Victoria in Elgin. These other Casinos seem to payout way better than any of the Hollywood Casinos.

“I now understand why the Casino has a disappearing customer base”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2011

I was amazed for the price how mediocre the food was. At the that price I expect some hands on help (like in Vegas) that prepares some of the more delicate food per order. Most of the seafood items were beyond prime condition. Somethings hold well in a buffet table others do not. When you offer the ones that do not I expect you to have somehow have overcome the problem by frequent refreshes or by preparing per order, Epic does neither. The difference between this and Old Country Buffet or a similar entry is simply atmosphere and marginally better food. The food servers are cut from the same cloth so to speak. You are paying for the location and a far more upscale atmosphere than your average buffet experience. IMO, Golden Corral offers a superior experience for the price differential. For more vegetarian offerings try Sweet Tomatoes. Either of these offerings does freshness better.

“$18 Buffet - Not Worth It”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

Went to buffet last night (August 9). Buffet was over $18. Had food segmented by ethic groups. Food was marginal. Agree with other comment regarding Old Country Buffet. It reminded me of Ryan's, a similar buffet place.

Ice cream came out of machine as ice crystals. Cheesecake and banana creme pie were warm, which conjured an uneasy feeling.

I'm not that familiar with Aurora restaurants, but there has to be better choices.
