We stayed at this 3* Radisson for a long weekend. We booked online and got such a good deal that we got two rooms; with two teens this was a must. The rate was so low I was worried about the quality and condition of the property and the neighborhood it was in. I did not need to. It was in a very nice area. We were even able to get the connecting king-size rooms we needed when we got there, although I had called ahead with this request. It was a nice, clean, safe hotel with a small indoor pool with hot tub and sauna(that really closes at 10:00pm) plus workout room. It does have a restaurant and lounge with drink specials of the day. I can not comment on the quality as I did not eat or drink there but it was very nice inside when I took a walk-thru. They offer room service until 10:00pm.The rooms were clean and spacious with a king bed, desk with chair, comfy chair and ottoman, hair dyer, small coffee maker w/coffee (ask for tea at front desk), tv w/ game option. They supplied soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion.Around the corner on Arlington Heights is HIGGLEY's where we ate breakfast each day. Great taste, great price! There is also a Denny's by the hotel. Rosita's Pizza 5 minutes south on Algonquin rd. at Busse was a must for the dine in special. The pizza was thin and tasty and huge! Vegitarians should note that CHOWPATTI'S (only 7 minutes away) has an all vegitarian 26 page menu. Great food, "softies" a must, high priced but well worth it. All food made when ordered so it can take a while especially during busy times (we were there around 8pm with no wait). Best baklava and more to be had at the Valli Produce on rt 53 at Arlington Heights rd. This place is a must see! (they even have octopus salad and 5 kinds of eggplant; did I mention baklava and cannoli and figs....)Shopping at the Gurnee Mills outlet mall was a blast. It is near Six Flags and only about 20 minutes away. The bargain hunting shoppers in the family had a blast. All the big names at tiny prices. My daughter found a sassy suede jacket for $7.50! This was well worth the trip and you dont have to walk outside or ride the "L" downtown to get to the Rainforest Cafe.
