“Clean and perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

A recent trip put me in Arlington Heights, Illinois, and I was happy to stay at this Courtyard, The room was perfect, the service friendly, and the bistro well run. I was able to work at the well appointed in room work station, the exercise room was just right, and the hot tub the perfect relaxation point in the evening. The convenient location on the service road off of the main road puts you further at ease. It is a great place to stay.

My first time to Chicago and I was pleased that it was not too far from the airport. I was mostly impressed with the service I received upon my check-in. The clerk, Sean, was very attentive when he noticed that I walked with a cane. He then made sure to place me in a room that was not too far from an entrance and moved me from an upstairs to a downstairs room. I have traveled quite a bit and typically need to ask for these small adjustments. It was nice not having to explain but merely to thank him for noticing and offering to make changes.

This Courtyard, was very clean and conveniently close to the airport (as stated) as well as to other restaurants. The Bistro Café does offer a decent selection of food if you prefer not to venture out. The Doubletree across the street did have an on-site sit down restaurant, The Birchwood Grill which had the absolute best ribs and pot roast to offer. I would recommend this property to all travelers whether on business or personal travel.

Dear MzTFlo,

Thank you for recognizing Sean publicly :) . It truly means a lot to us when Tripadvisor Senior Contributor takes so much time to highlight our property and recognize one of our team members by name. Good hotel has had a makeover since I last stayed and is looking better for it . It has a cafe/bar which I did not use. The indoor pool is good upstairs rooms do not have fridges Beds are comfy but not as many channels as you get at a residence in. There is a Denny's across the street and woodfield mall is 10 minute drive away.

Room Tip: Downstairs room seem a little bigger and have fridges

Dear brownted,

Thank you very much for taking your time and posting a review. I love the word “makeover”. It is exactly how we feel!:) Also, thank you for noting our proximity to the Woodfield Mall which is the largest shopping center in the state of Illinois and one of the largest shopping malls in the United States!!! It is worth to highlight that it is an indoor Mall – weather will not bother you while browsing endless stores…

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights/3 days for a business meeting in which we used the conference room. The hotel is not impressive from the outside, but it is the inside that counts. The lobby is very open with the Bistro (cafe/restaurant) right in the lobby. This gives a good mixture of lounge and table seating for eating, working or relaxing. The food at the Bistro is wonderful and reasonable priced.

The room was very nice, clean and updated. The bathroom was spacious, bed comfortable and had a nice desk and couch for working or relaxing. I had a single King room. A mini-fridge would have been nice, and I thought the wardrobe/armoire was a little awkwardly placed, but not enough to detract from the hotel.

The conference room was nice for our three day meeting with attentive staff, nice drink selections and comfortable chairs and tables. The only downside was the HVAC was not idea. The outside weather was warm enough A/C was needed, but it was too powerful making the temperature go from hot to freezing in a single cycle.

This hotel was great. We stayed one night to take the kids swimming. The staff was friendly and hotel was nice and quite. The room were big and the lobby has a nice design. Would stay again. I also suggest getting the double suite, it has a separate living room.

Room Tip: Double suite are big and have their own living room, with a small fridge and microwave.

Dear Jamie611,
Thank you kindly for your review. Just today we added additional check point: Outdoor Deck Furniture. During our winter renovation we sneaked into our courtyard area and build a brick deck. Today we furnished it with a beautiful set of outdoor sofas, armchairs and tables. When you will return - have a family dinner OUTDOOR! And then… cut through a courtyard back to the pool… or your suite for a nap (that is of course if you booked on the first floor:)

Stayed here for about the 3rd time now. Handy location off of the Interstate. Lots of restaurants nearby. Woodfield shopping area fairly close by. Hotel was recently refurbished. Beds/pillows great. Frig in room. Nice big TV. Pool/hot tub looked nice but didn't use. Nice casual restaurant in lobby serving breakfast and dinner. Had a Turkey Rueben. Also serve drinks. Nice relaxing place to end a busy day. Every employee that we dealt with was very nice & sincere. They have free newspapers: local paper, USA Today and Wall Street Journal. Will definitely stay here again during my next trip to the Chicago area!

Great value!

Location/Parking: About 10 mins drive from O'Hare. It doesn't offer airport shuttle but parking is free. Plenty of food options within walking distance - right across Mitsuwa Japanese market which includes a nice food court, 1 block from Meijer's and casual dinings like Chiptole, Starbucks, Five Guys etc.

Room: Staff upgraded me to a suite - very spacious and comfortable room, clean and nicely furnished. Nice view of the courtyard.

Lobby: Newly renovated, cozy & chic.

Service: Very friendly staff.

Facilities: Has a gym, standard pool and whirlpool, and an on-site casual restaurant.

Room Tip: If you travel with a lot of luggage - get a room near the elevator.
