Perhaps Wildfish is for folks who just don't like the taste of fish. On our first visit here from out-of-town we were surprised that the very high quality fish that was served was offset by unusually strong accompaniments that detracted from the fish itself. The fresh and well cut fish on the sushi sat atop a base of rice very strongly seasoned wasabi rice. The typical vinegared sushi rice allows one to add wasabi to taste, but here the choice is made for you. We found it overwhelmed the fish.
Our main dish was a special - roasted fish topped with a mushroom citrus sauce. Again, the fish was excellent, but the mushroom sauce was not only overwhelming, it had an odd taste. The accompanying black rice was almost tasteless. We aked ourselves later if it the sauce might have spoiled.
The restaurant manager was not present to answer our questions. When we called the following day, she was out but we were told she would call back. She never did.
