“Safe haven for weary interstate travelers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

Stopped here while driving cross-country on the interstate. It was early May, and almost no one staying here, so at first we were a little skeptical. But everything turned out just fine. The pool was surprisingly nice, and I got in some good lap-swimming (fairly small pool, but actually not bad for laps if you're the only one there). Room was clean and quiet. Service was courteous. WiFi worked. The free breakfast was good, and the breakfast room clean and bright.

After driving through SD, MN, and IA, we finally arrived at the IL border. Our first choice of hotel was booked, so we continued into IL hoping for the best. We arrived late and were given a room with 2 queen beds. While this was an older hotel, it was very clean. The Front Desk staff were very friendly and helpful, even offerring to assist me with our luggage cart! That was a first! The beds and pillows were comfortable and we slept well, if briefly. The morning breakfast was hot as advertised but just OK in terms of quality and variety. We were disappointed that the pool was "under maintenance" but probably too tired to swim anyway. Since we don't normally even look at Best Western hotels from previous poor experiences, this was a suprisingly comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was near the pool on the first floor, but since the pool was closed it was very quiet. I d...

There is little in the way of restaurants or towns for that matter nearby. That said, rooms are clean, they can accept pets ( only a couple rooms are pet friendly so good idea to make a reservation for this) and staff is accommodating. Strong value.

We were on a cross-country trip with a pet, so needed somewhere close to I-80 and pet-friendly. The staff was very nice, and the room was also spacious and a good value. They have a pet fee, which was somewhere around $25 (not sure if it was per diem, or per trip). The higher fee and room rate was completely worth it since this had more of a big hotel feel than a small, close-to-I-80 thing going.

We selected this location based on other reviews from tripadvisor and they were right!
It's located right off the highway and I don't recall hearing any noise our room faced the south side. They also allow pets for an additional charge. Late check-in and check-out was easy.

Room: King size bed, spacious and clean

Service: friendly, nice and helpful. I left my laptop at the front desk and they returned it to me.

Wireless: free as advertised

Breakfast: continental style not the widest selection

Pool/Gym: yes, took a quick look at both and they were clean.

Never stayed at any other hotel in the area, but based on our experience we wouldn't bother looking for another one in the area. We would definitely return.

I visit this region of Illinois regularly as I have family here. Consequently, I have tried all of the hotels in the Geneseo / Cambridge / Annawan area. Since this hotel became a Best Western, this hotel is BY FAR the best choice for where to stay in this area. It is in good condition, impeccably clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Even though this hotel does not have the most convenient location for us, it is worth it for us to stay here and drive a bit more to spend time with the relatives because this hotel is that much better than anything else in the area.
