“One cannot ask for better hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

My husband and I stayed here on the first night of our road trip this summer and we were really spoilt. Jay and Michelle are real hosts and ensure you are very well cared for.

The rooms are comfortable with everything you need including drinks and snacks and the beds are wonderfully perfect for a good nights sleep. Some might find the bathroom a tad small, but there is everything you require in there and the towels are the softest I have ever experienced!

Evening wine and hospitality should be enjoyed and the breakfast is a wonderful three course affair...so don't plan on a large dinner the night before....as you will want to take advantage of the well prepared and very tasty food.

All in all a gret place to stay...not cheap...but I feel it is worth it.

We decided to try a Bed and Breakfast for the very first time and were soooo happy about our choice. We were treated so special by both Michele and Jay who opened their home and their hearts to us. The Lodge takes you back into a time of just breathing easier......slowing down long enough to play a game of Parcheesi and talking while sharing wine and wonderful cheeses and meats.
The rooms are set up for privacy with decor that causes you to feel so special. Each room has it's own bathroom, which is not always the case at bed and breakfasts. And we woke up each morning to a tray of goodies before an elegant breakfast. Well worth the money.

What a gem we found! We were spoiled for three days of fun and relaxation in a gorgeous part of our country. Jay and Michele are gracious innkeepers who make you feel like family in addition to serving scrumptious breakfasts, snacks in the room, and evening wine and hors d'oeuvres. Besides great food, the grounds and deck are spacious, movie library is extensive, and the rooms are very private. We would highly recommend the Ponderosa Lodge, and have already told many friends and family about it. Can't wait to return ourselves!

Ponderosa Lodge is in a class of it's own. We were so impressed with the beautiful home and with Jay and Michele as innkeepers. There is so much attention to detail--the house is immaculate and beautifully decorated. The rooms are very nice. There are lots of things that make it special...great linens. toiletries, snacks in the room and in the common areas. Probably what stands out the most is how quickly we relaxed. Jay and Michele were so gracious. They have a very good sense of people and knew exactly how to make us feel welcome without being intrusive. We planned to spend one night with them and by that evening we both agreed to stay another night. We're so glad we did & we'll be back!

The Innkeepers have thought of everything in furnishing and outfitting this lovey B & B. The rooms are beautifully and artfully decorated, the bathroom is equipped with anything you might need. The downstairs offers plenty of private space for reading or socializing or working on a computer (free WiFi). The front and back porches are gorgeous and nicely furnished.
The Innkeepers seemed to go out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and needed nothing. To top it all off, they made us a delicious gourmet dinner (by special arrangement). Put this inn on your list of great places to stay in Idaho. It's a gem.

As first-time visitors to any B&B, Michele and Jay made our first stay at The Ponderosa Lodge a wonderful experience. They made us feel like family members from the very first moment and it never stopped. The accomodations were splendid and we were most impressed by the rustic, yet modern, and comfortable decor. During our two day stay we were treated to sumptious breakfasts and evening refreshments while enjoying friendly conversations with the hosts. Our room was beautiful, as was the entire lodge with its hand-crafted and antique furnishings. The location is secluded yet convenient to the amenities of Coeur D'Alene proper (10 miles). We will definitely be returning to The Ponderosa in the future and recommend it highly to anyone seeking relaxation and a wonderful B&B experience.
