“Short, peaceful, and pretty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

A short 40 minute walk to the waterfall, lots of flora and several trails that lead off the main trail. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful, and a good way to spend an afternoon. The waterfall was nice and you can swim in it, the two lifeguards are pretty relaxed and give nice and quick instructions to anybody who is going to swim. Although the rocks really hurt your feet, so bring water shoes!

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

A short 40 minute drive from Waikiki.$15 per adult, $7.50 for children 4 - 12 and seniors. Beautiful flowers and birds to watch. Botanical gardens. Short moderate 30 minute trek to the falls. Easy for toddlers, kids and strollers. If mobility is an issue, there is a golf cart available for an extra fee. Bring bug repellant.

“Beautiful and peaceful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

This trip to Hawaii we skipped as much of the "tourist traps" and stayed mostly on the North shore. This is the one thing we missed last trip so it was on our must do. We skipped the shopping/eating area and immediately started the EASY gradual, paved, hike to the falls. Our little people were happily skipping along the paths and darting down side paths with lovely views of the local fauna. We saw vanilla plants, banana trees, orange, mango, and quava trees. It was a truly beautiful stroll.

The falls were manned with helpful/relaxed lifegaurds who fitted the little people in our group with complimentary life jackets and brief (less than a minute) instructions for swimming in the water.

The water was ICE COLD but so refreshing after several days in the salt water! The worst part was the walk over the rocks to the swimming area, bring reef shoes or sandals with straps!

The falls were beautiful and iconic, you've seen them in many movies/tv shows.

“Beautiful park with walkway to waterfall and swimming area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

This cultural park and botanical garden is stupendously beautiful with flowering trees and shrubs, excellent walkways, a very good and reasonably priced cafe and a gift shop full of Hawaiian craft items. Definitely bring a camera and spend hours taking photos. Bring swim gear for the falls pool, which is for older kids and adults, no beach. Swim shoes are a good idea for the rocks. The pool is at the base of the falls and pool is 30 feet deep. This is a great place for a lovely walk, mostly shady, with something to admire around every curve.

“Peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

We went after a day at Waimea Beach and this is a beautiful spot. The Farmers Market, on Thursday 3-7, was setting up and the valley was still quiet and tranquil. The gift shop and snack bar are in the front and both offer affordable options if this is something you are looking for. The walk is easy to the falls and swimming was an option the day that we went. We really enjoyed this spot, take the time and enjoy.
